Augusto Pinochet was born on November 25, 1915 in Valparaiso, a coastal city in central Chile. He studied successively in Chile's Military Academy, Infantry Academy, Army Academy and National Defense Academy.

Pinochet began his military career in 1933 and served successively as Inspector of the Chilean Army Academy, Deputy Dean of the Army Academy, Commander of the Seventh Infantry Regiment, Chief of Staff of the Second Army Division, Commander of the Sixth Division, Commander of the Guardian of the Capital Santiago, and Chief of Staff of the Army , Commander-in-chief of the Army and other positions. He was promoted to brigadier general in 1969 and general in 1973.

On September 11, 1973, Pinochet launched a coup, overthrew the Allende government, established a military regime, and personally served as the chairman of the military governing committee and commander-in-chief of the armed forces. In June 1974, Pinochet became the head of state. From December 1974 to March 1981, he served as president and chairman of the governing committee. According to Chile's new constitution passed in 1980, Pinochet was elected president in March 1981. Chile held a general election on December 14, 1989. Alvin won and became president in March 1990. Pinochet continued to serve as the commander-in-chief of the army. In March 1998, he was sworn in as Chilean Senator for life.

During his administration, Pinochet implemented a high-pressure policy in politics, leading to the disappearance or killing of thousands of people across the country, and more than 100,000 people were forced into exile abroad. But economically, Pinochet took bold reform measures to enable Chile's economy to develop rapidly.

On October 16, 1998, Pinochet was arrested while seeking medical treatment in a London hospital. The cause was the Spanish accusation that he was suspected of killing Spaniards and descendants of Hispanics during his administration. After more than a year of repeated negotiations between the Chilean government and the British and Spanish governments, Pinochet was allowed to return to China in March 2000.

Since 2000, Pinochet has been prosecuted more than 300 times, repeatedly deprived of his immunity as a former Chilean president and life-long senator, and was placed under house arrest for a time.
On December 3, 2006, supporters of the former Chilean military government leader Augusto Pinochet waited for news outside the Santiago Military Hospital. Pinochet was admitted to the San Diego Military Hospital at two o'clock in the morning for treatment due to a sudden severe myocardial infarction and emphysema.
The referendum, which was held, had already been decided.
Finally, the people in the NO camp saw the published data and knew that the artificial fakes in the YES camp were very angry, but there was no way. But the generals were dispatched, the real statistics were announced, and NO won. The planner was first shocked by the sudden happiness, and he dragged his son through the celebrating crowd with no expression on his face. Until he was sure that he was really victorious, he picked up his son with tears in his eyes, and was deeply moved by the intimidation and hard work he had received in return. The next day he skated on his skateboard and returned to the company to start his previous work.
