The magical ginger

I don't watch many movies, but I have seen some famous westerns in history, but I have never heard of "Jing Ge" before. Quentin let me pick up this classic again.

The 1964 "Red Dead Redemption" tells the story of a knight played by Clint Eastwood, who instigated two forces in the town and eliminated them. At the end of the film, Clint Eastwood said: "The Mexican government is on one side, maybe the U.S. government is on the other side, and I'm in the middle?" This means that he doesn't want to provoke the U.S. and Mexico to copy the rape pattern. This is too dangerous. , Stop here. Unexpectedly, what Eastwood did not do, two years later, a director really came out with this idea. However, "Jing Ge" cannot really involve the US and Mexican governments. It is just a battle between a group of American racists and a small group of Mexican armed forces. Jiang Ge was involved, and as a result, both factions perished. The storyline of "Jing Ge" is similar to that of "Red Dead Redemption". If it is different, the biggest difference is that the rescued woman in "Red Dead Redemption" was placed in the position of the heroine this time, and her love fell directly on Jiang Ge.

There are several surprising places in "Jing Ge". From the beginning of the film, a protagonist dragging a coffin is enough to make people curious. What kind of story is this? When Jiang Ge wants to single-handedly deal with the Colonel's 40 people, the audience will sweat for him. Until then, the secret in the coffin was revealed. It turned out that what was placed in the coffin was an extremely powerful machine gun. With this machine gun, the enemy would naturally be able to deal with it. This machine gun showed great power three times, once helped Jiang Ge basically eliminate the colonel gang, once helped Jiang Ge and the Mexicans seize gold, and once helped Jiang Ge escape. Seeing more than half of the film, I wondered why this film was not renamed "The Story of a Machine Gun". Of course, the screenwriter will not be so mediocre, and a wonderful ending is indispensable to highlight the image of the protagonist. Seeing Jiang Ge, the beauty of gold was already in hand, and a happy life was about to start, but the plot turned around. In an instant, the gold fell into the swamp, the beauty was shot, and even the hands that Jiang Ge depended on for survival were crippled. But the magical thing about the ending is that Jiang Ge burst into blood. In the final duel, seeing a pair of useless hands, he couldn't even hold the spear, but in an instant, a miracle was born, firing a few shots and destroying all the enemies. A sharpshooter with no hands, this must be awe-inspiring in the movie industry where there were many westerns. What has to be said is that the meaning of the coffin is not just as simple as a machine gun. It also buried Jiang Ge's past, including Jiang Ge's sad love past, which made Jiang Ge heavy and unable to extricate himself. But he was finally awakened by the new love.

Quentin's "Liberated Jiang Ge" is like a prequel to "Jiang Ge", but why is Jiang Geming in the original work a white man, but becomes black when he arrives at Quentin? However, Quentin always focuses on style, not rigor, when making movies, and he doesn't care about it either. Quentin inherited the race theme and love theme in the original work, and pulled them more grandiose. In my opinion, the racial theme in "Liberated Jiang Ge" is just a shield of justice for Jiang Ge's slaughter, and I prefer it to be a story of a man who is brave because of his beloved woman.

The 1966 "Jiang Ge" was said to be banned because it was too violent and bloody. I didn't feel it at all when I watched it. Compared with the 1969 Western classic "Sunset Yellow Sand", it is really insignificant. But this must be one of the reasons why Quentin likes "Jiang Ge".

Brother Jiang imitated Eastwood's traces, except that he did not imitate the posture of others who are not close to women~

Django quotes

  • Django: [pulls a blanket from Maria's bed] I'm taking a blanket.

    Maria: Thank you.

    Django: For what?

Maria: All that you've done for me.

Django: [starts to leave] I didn't do it for you.

Maria: Thank you, even if it wasn't for me.

Django: I don't know... if I should have save you.

Maria: It's not for me to say. But for the first time, I felt like I was a real woman. Someone to protect, and... and to be loved, Django.

Django: [drops the blanket and closes the door] I'm glad I made you feel like a real woman - very glad. I mean that.

  • [last lines]

Maj. Jackson: [preparing to kill Django] Django, I think you should make a last request! I'll be glad to oblige you any way I can. Start praying if you like, I don't mind. It's a smart thing to do when you know that death is coming for you. How come you haven't you got your burial suit with you? We'll have to leave you to the vultures! So now, begin your prayer...

[shoots a side of Mercedes Zaro's cross]

Maj. Jackson: I can't hear ya!

    [reloads and fires]

    Maj. Jackson: Okay... now!

    [reloads and fires twice]

    Django: Can you hear THIS?

[shoots Major Jackson and his gang]
