Hick may really not be a lovely movie. There is no main storyline and jump again, like a road movie but not a road movie. The director used the people and encounters encountered by the rebellious little Lori when she ran away from home and grew into a single perspective to shoot.
For the precocious and rebellious little Lori who refused to leave home for the first time to come into contact with society, apart from a little curiosity and restlessness about the unknown, she was left with a fickle adult world that she could not cope with. The abrupt plot that lacks explanation is pieced together by the incident that Lori saw and encountered. You may think it is abrupt and strange that you haven't had time to react and haven't figured out the situation, so many people say that the director's cut is bad. But I don’t think so. Looking at it from another angle, little Lolita has no time to respond to these sudden people and things that happen suddenly, and must accept unconditionally. The director presents the film in a patchwork way, which is the most direct way of expressing the atmosphere.
The jumping plot may make you deeply doubt the integrity of this movie. But it fully shows the adult world that little Lolita encountered.
Hick may not be a beloved movie, but it is not a meaningless movie to find beautiful women to make money at the box office.
