Another alternative work by Gus Van Sant. In recent years, HKIFF has watched his movies (Paranoid Park, Elephant, etc./How can everyone forget his masterpieces such as My Own Private Idaho and Good Will Hunting/I have recently bought the award-winning movie Milk and haven’t watched it yet). Fortunately, watching his works on the big screen, I try my best to strive for opportunities.

"Restless" is a young romantic love story that is different from other Gus Van Sant movies. The protagonists are Enoch (Henry Hopper) and Annabel (Mia Wasikowska) who both have a sadness behind and fall in love with death.

Henry is a funeral crasher. He often rushes to other people's funerals. Once he was discovered by others. He had to chase away the guests and get the help of Annabel to get out of danger. I met at the funeral, and the story ended at the funeral.

In addition to being a "death fan", Annabel also loves to study birds, and also loves to draw them when sketching from life. Henry has a Japanese devil friend, Hiroshi (Ryo Kase), who is a real devil.

A lot of the film’s dialogue and plot are laughable, there is no boring scene, and it is skillful and not artificial.

The casting is good, I actually quite like Mia Wasikowska, it is the best choice to find her to play Annabel.

It is worth seeing.
