The storyline is actually very old-fashioned. Even if modern people have never heard of the plot of "A Midsummer Night's Dream", they can probably guess that something is wrong when the elves drop flower juice on someone's eyelids. However, the interpretation of this story with modern means should increase the visibility of the traditional drama of that era.
This film, essay art, is not as good as "Shakespeare Love History" and "A Fair Lady"; there is nothing shining about the excitement of the lines. But it's the style that is brisk and the name is good. In summer, at midnight, the elves are infested, and the breeze is caressing, don't use any burdens, enjoy it all.
But I am very envious of the people of that era exporting them as poems, and all kinds of rhetoric like personification are readily available. Although if someone talks like this nowadays, it should be regarded as a neurosis, but my youthful heart still can't help but tremble=3=
But the ending doesn't feel so wonderful. Especially when they performed the drama in front of the Duke, there was a little inexplicable feeling, as if a lot of things were not revealed.
There are so many handsome men and beauties in the film, but Sophie Marceau looks very bleak. I still saw that there was a tag for her, and then I went to Baidu to search for her role before recognizing it = =
Summer is coming, listen to Mendelssohn's "Wedding March", and sleep at ease.
Midnight belongs to the elves. May there be a sweet dream.
