The most tragic love

1) The most tragic love is not about hating not meeting when you are unmarried, not because of the disparity between the rich and the poor, or even between life and death, but when one is fully committed and willing to give his life, the other is actually just to relieve boredom Flirting, but flirting very into the play, but in the face of reality, he wakes up faster than anyone else.

2) It's not easy to be a lover. Although they all died for love, TOM's lover is different from GATSBY. One is pursuing the glitzy life of drunken gold fans, and the other is just to exchange the glitzy life for true love. It's a pity that the two people love only treat them as flirting. The poor two took the flirting seriously.

3) Marriage is a gangster. DAISY and TOM are really a pair. Nick is right, they are husband and wife because they are vicious; TOM is right, GATSBY doesn't know DAISY without TOM. Because of understanding, so in control. What if the wife in the pink dream said that she had found her first love? Just tell her that the lover's wealth is not well-known, and the flirting incident is over.

4) Let people choose one of the TOM who seems to get everything, the frustrated GATSBY and the ordinary Nick. I don't know who you will choose? Greatness always has a price.

I have seen the two editions of 1974 and 2001 and like this one better.

Extended Reading

Very faithful adaptation of the original. The whole movie gives people a "classic old movie" style. Both Daisy and Nick did a great job. Especially Nick, I can't tell that he is actually the Boss in the current Newsroom.

Despite the superb cinematography and excellent art, the performance is overly flamboyant and completely misses the point of the novel, taking its essence and leaving it with a gleaming shell. This year's remake is sure to surpass this edition.

The Great Gatsby quotes

  • Nick Carraway: I thought of Gatsby's wonder when he first picked out the green light at the end of Daisy's dock. He had come a long way to this lawn, and his dream must have seemed so close that he could hardly fail to grasp it... He did not know that it was already behind him.

  • Daisy Buchanan: I love the way you love me.
