This movie is not the most famous among Antonioni's other films, but I have seen it the most.
It is very interesting and beautiful when dealing with the separation and indifference between a couple who has no love. It is worth borrowing when encountering similar couples breaking up scenes.
The wife left the site of her husband's book club alone and came to the poor alley where she had lived, where she felt physically and mentally happy.
The dilapidated house, the clock where time stopped, the young people fighting...all made her feel the existence and reality of life.
Watching the rocket, the proprietress of the small cold drink stand (introducing cheap hotels), how simple and happy.
The husband went home alone and woke up alone in the semi-dim light of the evening.
The two went to the strip club. The separated, conceptual erotic performance makes people feel false and distant. Although the dance is good, it seems to have nothing to do with anyone.
The people in PARTY are more like a group of wandering souls at night, the luxurious mansion of Lanruo Temple in the daytime, and enjoyment at night, and everything will cease to exist at dawn.
Monica Witty is undoubtedly the greatest beauty! Her voice will appear a little hoarse in the high pitch, with a faint smoking and alcoholic voice. And speaking in a low voice is very low and sweet.
It's dawn in Witty's room. Witty turned off the light and turned into a silhouette.
The couple strolled on the lawn... During that period, I really didn't know what would happen.
The appearance of the love letter seemed a little abrupt, but at that time something really needed to change something...breaking the state of the two at that time. The text on the love letter was so beautiful that I immediately forgot about the abruptness of the letter.
Except for that letter, I can't think of any other circumstances that would cause the last two to kiss each other.
The beauty of the picture and composition can't be recorded one by one. Antonioni always puts women in the right place and puts the right light on... Didn't see the unbeautiful woman in his picture, amazing!
Pull it farther, after watching this movie, I think of the recent comedy story that feels boring. Even if it’s a story that feels boring at the thought of that, there are actually many areas that can be designed, such as the separation between husband and wife, indifference, marriage breakdown, women’s minds, men’s attitudes, scenes, pictures...There is no bad story, only bad. movie of! (Reminiscent of the comedy scene at the Fellini Ball) Designing with great effort will always turn into a good-looking movie, even a boring popcorn comedy.

"I'm so tired of his love, but it makes you satisfied." Ye is too beautiful and haggard. "You two make me very tired tonight" laughed inexplicably.

Wong Kar-wai's version of "Evil in the East" is the closest masterpiece to "Night". Because the importance of Huashan on the sword is the same for men as it is for women. In "Night", only men can fall in love with "Adventures", and women can never find a way out in the indescribable darkness. They either lived a single life alone or lived a lonely life after marriage. The busier the party in the upper class, the more lost and at a loss the heroine feels. Everyone longs to experience redemption from the brink of death. Women can only express pain and helplessness with tears, while men can put it into action. So when the strange man flees the boring show with the preoccupied heroine, the married woman's nearly exhausted heart finally rains heavily. But at most she just danced and went for a ride with strangers. The real conflict in the film is between art and marriage, because the importance of love to artistic creation and love to married life is the same. Sandwiched between the two, An's seemed to have no solution to this moral problem, while Ouyang Feng, who was stalking the arena with the ashes of time, obviously went further.

La Notte quotes

  • Lidia: [reading from a piece of paper] "When I awoke this morning, you were still asleep. As I slowly emerged from my slumber, I heard your gentle breathing and through the wisps of hair over your face I saw your closed eyes and I could barely contain my emotion. I wanted to cry out, to wake you up, because you slept so deeply, you almost seemed lifeless. In the half light, the skin of your arms and throat appeared so vibrant, so warm and dry that I longed to press my lips against it, but the thought of disturbing your sleep, of you awake in my arms again, held me back. I preferred you like this, something on one could take from me bacause it was mine alone - - this image of you that would be everlasting. Beyond your face I saw my own reflection in a vision that was pure and deep. I saw you in a dimension that encompassed all the times of my life, all the years to come, even the years past as I was preparing to meet you. That was the little miracle of this waking moment: to feel for the first time that you were and always would be mine and that this night would go on forever with you beside me, - with the warmth of your blood, your thoughts, and your will mixed with mine. At that moment, I realized how much I loved you, Lidia, and the intensity of the emotion was such that tears welled up in my eyes. For I felt that this must never end, that all our lives should be like an echo of this dawn, with you no belonging to me but actually a part of me, something breathing within me that could could ever destroy except the apathy of habit, which is the only threat I see. Then you awoke and with a sleepy smile, kissed me, and I felt there was nothing to fear that we'd always be as we were at that moment, bound by something stronger than time and habit."

  • Giovanni: Who wrote that?

    Lidia: You did.
