This movie is not the most famous among Antonioni's other films, but I have seen it the most.
It is very interesting and beautiful when dealing with the separation and indifference between a couple who has no love. It is worth borrowing when encountering similar couples breaking up scenes.
The wife left the site of her husband's book club alone and came to the poor alley where she had lived, where she felt physically and mentally happy.
The dilapidated house, the clock where time stopped, the young people fighting...all made her feel the existence and reality of life.
Watching the rocket, the proprietress of the small cold drink stand (introducing cheap hotels), how simple and happy.
The husband went home alone and woke up alone in the semi-dim light of the evening.
The two went to the strip club. The separated, conceptual erotic performance makes people feel false and distant. Although the dance is good, it seems to have nothing to do with anyone.
The people in PARTY are more like a group of wandering souls at night, the luxurious mansion of Lanruo Temple in the daytime, and enjoyment at night, and everything will cease to exist at dawn.
Monica Witty is undoubtedly the greatest beauty! Her voice will appear a little hoarse in the high pitch, with a faint smoking and alcoholic voice. And speaking in a low voice is very low and sweet.
It's dawn in Witty's room. Witty turned off the light and turned into a silhouette.
The couple strolled on the lawn... During that period, I really didn't know what would happen.
The appearance of the love letter seemed a little abrupt, but at that time something really needed to change something...breaking the state of the two at that time. The text on the love letter was so beautiful that I immediately forgot about the abruptness of the letter.
Except for that letter, I can't think of any other circumstances that would cause the last two to kiss each other.
The beauty of the picture and composition can't be recorded one by one. Antonioni always puts women in the right place and puts the right light on... Didn't see the unbeautiful woman in his picture, amazing!
Pull it farther, after watching this movie, I think of the recent comedy story that feels boring. Even if it’s a story that feels boring at the thought of that, there are actually many areas that can be designed, such as the separation between husband and wife, indifference, marriage breakdown, women’s minds, men’s attitudes, scenes, pictures...There is no bad story, only bad. movie of! (Reminiscent of the comedy scene at the Fellini Ball) Designing with great effort will always turn into a good-looking movie, even a boring popcorn comedy.

La Notte quotes

  • Giovanni: I know what to write, but how? It's a crisis affecting many writers today. But in my case, it's something secret inside affecting my whole life.

Valentina Gherardini: You're just weak, like me. Why are you telling me this? I may not understand. After all, I like golf, tennis, cars, parties.

Giovanni: Nothing else? Isn't there anything else?

    Valentina Gherardini: Yes. Everything.

  • Valentina Gherardini: Promise not to make fun of me?

    Giovanni: I promise.

Valentina Gherardini: [turns on tape recorder] From the living room today you could hear dialogue from a film on television: 'If I were you, I wouldn't do that, Jim.' After that, the howling of a dog rising in a perfect arc and trailing off in great sadness. Then I thought I heard a plane, but there was silence - and I was glad. A garden's silence is made of sounds. Press your ear to a tree and listen - after a while you'll hear a sound. Perhaps it comes from within us, I'd rather think it's the tree. Within that silence were strange noises that disturbed the soundscape around me. I closed the window, but the noises persisted. I thought I'd go crazy. I don't want to hear useless sounds. I want to pick them out throughout the day. Same with voices and words. So many words I'd rather not hear, but you can't escape them. You must resign yourself to them like the waves when you float on your back in the ocean."
