From another perspective, this is another "death illusion"-style movie. A key line of the bald man in the play also hints at this point-"You (referring to the girl and the male number two) are just what I imagined." It shows that the bald man successfully committed suicide at the beginning of the film. The plot of the whole film is an illusion produced in his dying brain!
