Save the soul with life

I don't know why Tsotsi burst into tears in the end.
But I know that at that moment, his soul was thoroughly cleansed.

A street gangster, a man who lives by robbery, a man who is afraid of everyone, but at a loss in front of a baby. He was fierce, violent, and barbaric, but was beaten to nothing by a baby of several months. Not only that, but in turn, he worked hard to care for this person who didn't belong to him at all, nor did he kill him. And a sense of responsibility and obligation arises from this, and he wants to raise this child. His soul was awakened and saved by such a baby.

Maybe this has something to do with his childhood, because he didn't get love from the family or from the society, he hopes to use this child to resist his father's tyranny and get love by giving.

There is also the theme of dignity in the film. From his partner, the old man who is due to beg, to the woman he hijacks the breastfeeding, he begins to understand what dignity is. So in the end, he got dignity: the chief of police gave him the choice to surrender, and that was to give him dignity.

In the film, you can see Tsotsi living in a slum, which reminds me of "City of God", a group of children living in chaos, disorder, poverty, crowded, and dirty environment. You can imagine that people like this will grow up. how.

Although apartheid has been abolished in South Africa, segregation between the rich and the poor, as a social phenomenon, will not disappear easily. In the film, Tsotsi and the family of the robbed baby completely show the disparity between the rich and the poor. Therefore, I think this movie also hopes that we will pay attention to those poor people.

Because poverty is not only the greatest threat to peace, but also the greatest helper of crime.

The film is more polite and does not create tragedies, but in real life, there are tens of thousands of crimes and tragedies caused by poverty every day. If the kidnapped child grows up in Tsotsi, it is conceivable that his fate will be completely different from that of his own parents. If it falls into the hands of those street gangsters in "City of God", it might be another gangster who makes a living by killing, drug trafficking, and robbery.

Seeing this, thinking about those of us who do not live in slums, I just think that the only thing we are better than the poor is that we are luckier than them.

It is recommended that if you have not watched "City of God", if you like this movie, you can watch "City of God" again, you will get a lot of gains.
