Unlike the passionate and explosive performances of the actors in "Road to Revolution", the performance of this film is internalized and relies on the director's photography. Except for a direct quarrel between husband and wife, there is not much dramatic conflict in the whole film. However, Ceylon used a lot of close-up shots to capture the subtle changes in the expressions and eyes of the actors. When dealing with the relationship between the characters, the director tried to concise the traces of the performance between the actors as much as possible, but used the camera to confirm the relationship and psychological state of the two. A large number of indoor close-up shots occupy the film, and the shots are mainly fixed shots, but the actors are free to enter and leave the painting, which shows that the performance of the film relies on space to express. Several outdoor scenes are mostly based on the distant view, which is used to set off the atmosphere of the movie and exaggerate the emotions of the characters, just as the director of "Uzak" has a beautiful expression of the sky. However, in a scene where the wife and the boss met for the last time, the characters used exaggerated body language and verbal dialogue to complete an excellent performance in the big panorama. Ceylon, the director of photography, has demonstrated excellent lens performance in the film. The movies mostly show the internal emotional changes of the characters in close-up and close-up, supplemented by the distant and bleak vision to render the atmosphere. The film photography is outstanding but not overwhelming. The solid character performance and detailed portrayal make an otherwise plain story have a vertical allegorical depth.
The title of "Three Monkeys" comes from the "Three Monkeys" in Japanese religion. There are three monkeys in the painting, one covering its ears, one covering its mouth, and the other covering its eyes, which means "don't look, don't listen, don't speak" . What the film shows is the harm of hidden secrets to family members. The act of committing crimes twice at the beginning and the end of the film itself is a process of disguising the secret, and the wife’s cheating throughout the film is also a family secret, and the revealing of the secret leads to the outbreak of tragedy. The inner secret of the family lies in the child who was drowned. Although no one has mentioned it, the fantasy of the son and the father and a photo reveal this previous family trauma. And if they hope to get through the current difficulties, they can only maintain the attitude of "don't watch, listen, don't tell" about the wife's affair and the murder of the son, just like the dead child. At the same time, the three attitudes of "don't see, don't listen, don't speak" also created an irreparable gap between the three. Everyone tried to conceal the truth, but the truth was inevitably leaked, causing harm to everyone.
