The war tore us apart

Like "Atonement", because it is Keira Knightley, even if the movie involves war, I still watch it.

I don't know the poet in the film, but he may be too literary and cannot escape from the sweetness of the past. The fulfillment of love requires the obedience of two people. Therefore, even if I do not like this misty and corrupt poet, I have to admit that it is impossible to complete this relationship if he is only unfaithful.

When I saw that the soldier who returned was no longer handsome and straight, I couldn’t help feeling sore. The war had ruined everything about us. His brain was stuffed with too many cruel and bloody pictures, and they erased his vision of his wife. Trust, he almost forgot that he was still in love, and he didn't even touch the child. He thought it was born to his wife and poet.

Maybe I didn't understand the entanglement between them. I thought Vera was staying for her soldier husband, and I thought the poet was always a bastard. I thought Dabing had misunderstood his wife, the child was his, and Vera loved him.

It seems that no matter what time we are, reunion and mutual harmony are the end of our life.

Did anyone see the scene where the arm was dropped? This scene is scarier than any horror movie.

The Edge of Love quotes

  • Dylan Thomas: Where's our son?

Caitlin MacNamara: Chopped up in little bids and packed with my knickers in the suitcase.

Dylan Thomas: Oh, dear, the police'll be chasing you.

  • Vera Phillips: I don't melt at the sight of a uniform, that's all. Sod it. I don't like nosy parkers.

Caitlin MacNamara: It was a civil question. I could have said, "Are you after my husband?" But I didn't.

Vera Phillips: Heartache, that's what I see in a uniform. I'm not gonna love someone just to have them die off on me.
