Deaf Jockey-Feel the music without ears

Sunshine, golden beach, clubs, lazy most excellent DJs from all around the world... that's my impresssion about this small Spanish island. I dream of getting there to feel the real joy of music and life dancing and drinking and enjoy the sun with cool drink... Chill-out! Really pity that there isn't such a place in China...

"It's All Gone" happens in somewhere in Ibiza. An outstanding DJ named Frankie Wilde. He lost his sense of hearing which is as important as his life. At first, he intended to get it back with all his efforts, however, failed. Then He thought of suicide, failed again. He spent his darkest days in isolation and drugs. The he came back with his strong determination. With the help of another deaf girl, he learn to read lips and and the meaning of life; with a computer, two amplifiers and other DJ equipments, he started it all up again. Really hard to imagine that he made a top record which he could never enjoy with his ears...

It is a nightmare that a DJ couldn't hear, yet what impress me most is his spirit in music. Never give up even life is cruel to him. Even he could not listen to music he could "feel" music with eyes and feet and even a glass of wine. He just continued his life in music. He found his meaning of life, his real love, his spotlight, and his freedom. In other words, he got more than he had lost. Life is equal to him .

However, it also set me thinking that we should love those we have. When Frankie lost his sence of hearing, he learnt to cherish it, while it was too late. Health, love (of every kind), environment, time, friendship , everything we get. Don't indulge in some unhealthy way. "You gonna reap just what you sow," Lou Reed told us.

So many famous DJs as TIESTO, PAUL VAN DYK and CARL COX all appeared in the interview in this film to praise him, really unimaginable! Whether the life of Pete Tong's life is such I don't know. What is important is his music is really chill-out ---- the feeling of life near the sea with breeze, transparent water, sweet sound waves...

It's All Gone Pete Tong quotes

  • Max Hagger: I think what he's trying to say is even though he feels that he has nothing to prove to you, he'd be happy to prove anything you want, to you.

  • Frankie Wilde: Flip flop is to me perfection.
