How can the special effects of the 2008 film be so fake?

The dress and weapon style is the style of World War I, a bit like the Battle of Verdun, which gives people a very special feeling. But the special effects of that movie are really done. . . The 2008 film was made in retro style, but it shouldn’t be retro to the point where the special effects save money and look like a small production. There are so many background gimmicks and the shooting cost is so small, it’s not flattering. Okay, I admit that watching American movies is for strong visual effects. If someone likes this movie and thinks that watching this movie is for art, style and not special effects, then you are really fake~~very hypocritical~ ~~!
