Domestic horror film writers and directors come and see this!

This is the second Spanish thriller movie I have ever seen. Like the last one I've seen, the closer the movie gets to the end, the more terrifying it gets, but the sadder it gets towards the end. The story of this movie is actually very simple. The mother took her four children to escape from the murderous father and found a new residence in a remote place. The mother soon died of illness. After the mother died of illness, the murderer father found the children and killed everyone except the boss. The boss sealed the attic of the house and sealed the murderer's father inside, but he suffered from a split personality and turned into four brothers and sisters. Finally, with the help of his girlfriend, he finally killed the murderer's father and was treated for split personality.

The horror elements used in this movie are actually very common in domestic horror films. What kind of siblings, schizophrenia, murderous demons, etc. But with the same elements, this movie is combined into a horror and sad story. Finally, the psychiatrist and the male lead’s girlfriend said that "people with abnormal mentality cannot give you true love." I think this sets off the heroine's bravery and love, and it also leads to the cause of the heroine's "mental abnormality". The male protagonist has been living in fear because of his father, but the brothers and sisters live in the fantasy brought about by schizophrenia in order to forget the past after death. It seems that his experience has not taught him how to love.

The details of the movie are also in place. After finally revealing the truth, I discovered that the siblings of the protagonist had never appeared outside, and had never appeared in front of the lawyer. Because these people actually don't exist, they are just the split personality of the male protagonist. This also achieved the coherence and consistency of the plot.

Watching this movie made me realize that a horror doesn't have to be shocking or even bloody. The part in the movie where the main male sister’s personality imitates his mother’s signature is already nerve-racking enough. I have also found that it does not necessarily require how passionate emotional expressions are to make people moving and sad. The contrast between the truth and the illusion in the movie is sad enough, and the end of the movie does not make a feeling that everything is over and that you can finally welcome the new sun. The ending part is still filled with a hazy sentimental atmosphere, maintaining the direction of the emotional flow of the entire movie from front to back.

If you force this movie to be higher than the horror, perhaps the relationship between family affection and love can be used to think about it. Such classic and simple horror elements make up an excellent horror movie. I also hope that our domestic horror films can also be considered and developed in this direction.
