Thanks to the blessing of Netflix, since May, we have finally waited for a lot of new dramas. Including the second season of "Love, Death and Robots", which has plummeted in word-of-mouth, and the sixth season of the British drama "Mystery No. 9", which has already been enshrined, and the second season of the Thai drama "Forbidden Girl" Season; and "Moonlight Boy" director Barry Jenkins’s new drama "Underground Railroad", the biography of the legendary fashion designer "Halston" starring Ewan McGregor, and the Korean drama "Halston," starring many fans. Move to Heaven: I am a relic organizer" etc.
But today we still have to talk about "Innocent Most", which went live at the end of April and the fire at the beginning of May. It was written by Spanish director Auriol Paul and detonated the entire network of "The Invisible Guest" a few years ago. The original crew starred.
But compared to "The Invisible Guest", the new drama "The Best of Innocence" is undoubtedly a comprehensive upgrade. In the process of watching the drama, my personal biggest feeling is its "brave", its scale is big, how can I put it-it's so cool!
At the beginning of each episode of the play, a huge amount of information is used to narrate the lives of different characters, but at the same time it is closely linked to the plot, linking past clues to ongoing cases, and the investigation of the cases is complicated by the characters. Keep moving forward in the network of relationships, until the truth is finally restored. There are enough clues to burn the brain, and the unexpected reversal also makes people hooked.
Regardless of the narrative techniques and suspense itself, the play's portrayal of female group portraits is also very commendable. At the moment when the "her" culture is extremely hot, the phrase "Girl helps girl" successfully focused on the female characters in the play.
In this erotic case between an underage girl and a high-level political figure, the director has created an unimaginable hellish place for us, and it also allows us to see the dark experience behind the different characters. .
In the play, there is a sharp contrast between male and female characters. The impulsive male protagonist and the calm and calm female protagonist; the brave and fair female police detective and the male police officer who hides the dirty past; Danny's mother who walked out of pain through self-healing, and Danny's father who indulged in pain and went to extremes.
The female characters here are not all innocent and flawless, and they are often burdened with an unknown past. And in the complicated process of the case, they will inevitably make compelling choices when facing their own interests. But I have to say that their attitude of self-salvation and mutual assistance in this muddy water is really amazing.
In my opinion, this drama has rarely given us a calmer and more objective perspective, allowing us to re-recognize the power of women. In many cases, what the female characters do is definitely not a blind sacrifice without a brain, but also a self-help and mutual protection for their own survival and the love in their hearts.
In contrast, male characters tend to be more like tool people. For example, when three women were burdened with a heavy past, they finally completed the salvation of men and withdrew from their sad selves in the past. The author does not intend to trample on men, but compared to the impulse and anger of the male protagonist in the face of traps, the calmness and tolerance of the three women are undoubtedly particularly charming.
The erotic places in the play turn women into materialized existences. Their heavy makeup is just to please men, and even "I promise no one wants to have sex with you" is a threat to their chances of survival. Here, class and strength are clearly divided, and the organized crime of underage girls is obviously a further objectification and violation of women.
If the selling girl and Emma snatching the "boyfriend" are stereotyped female infighting, then three women, Kimi, Olivia, and Emma escaped from the hellish situation, and finally succeeded in killing Hannibal. It is the true feminine highlight.
The erotic venue in the play is like a concrete manifestation of the long-standing issue of equal rights for men and women, while the three heroines' resistance to Hannibal is the collision of women who cannot control their own destiny in reality. Emma's control of her own sexual desire has changed from being passively forced to survive at first to being active out of her own needs. It is also a re-mastery of destiny after she has escaped from hell.
The female friendship in the play is mainly reflected in the three heroines, and this friendship is even full of masculine "loyalty." Whether it was the mutual assistance of the three when they escaped, Emma's death in exchange for the protection of Olivia and Kimi, and the bullet that Olivia blocked for Kimi when the friendship was about to break, all made this friendship appear Be loyal enough.
But the biggest point of this friendship is that it is rough enough, it not only contains strong love and friendship, but at the same time is mixed with guilt and betrayal under extreme circumstances. For example, Kimi has a mother-daughter feeling for Olivia who is not related by blood, and when the friendship is on the verge of breaking down, Kimi punishes her with the pain that Olivia once inflicted on her. But despite this, the theme of "Girl helps girl" is the same.
The main characters in the play have one thing in common, which is a heavy past. Matt was charged with accidental murder and several years in prison. Olivia concealed his identity as a betrayal. The female police detective had witnessed the bloody scene of his father committing suicide. Danny’s parents had the pain of losing a child. A male policeman. Once involved in the illegal crime of rape and murder of underage girls, Kimi could not determine the life or death of his beloved Olivia.
They are either the victims or the victims, and they are all facing the pain in the past. Their different attitudes determine how they can achieve self-salvation in the helpless reality and dark past, how to face harm, and how to face being hurt?
At this level, Danny's parents have formed a binary opposition: both of them are victims, and the loss of their beloved son changed their lives from the day Danny died, but the two's handling and mentality of life afterwards It formed a sharp contrast.
Danny’s mother chose to use Danny’s heart to understand Matt, who missed and murdered. She walked out of the shadows in the meetings with Matt; while Danny’s father continued to indulge in pain and eventually became a father. A killer.
The Matt and his wife and the male police officer also caused harm to others. Matt used an apology and played Danny to help Danny’s mother slowly come out of the pain of losing her son; Olivia also made up for the debt to Kimi with the utmost sincerity; while the male police officer was facing When he blindly concealed his mistakes, he went to the fate of committing suicide by swallowing a gun.
Unlike the above-mentioned characters, the struggle of female police detectives is not between individuals, but between individuals and the environment. Faced with the male protagonist labelled as a murderer and the corrupt high-level officials who are unwilling to find out the truth, she has always been obsessed with the truth, even betting on her career. For the female police detective, this was the long self-healing after seeing her father commit suicide.
What is rare is that the depiction of the characters in the play does not deliberately ignore the weakness of human nature, but bets on each character at the same time as black and white and light and dark. For example, we thought that the male protagonist was finally guilty of his crimes in the final pursuit, but the strong man who fell from the prison in the prison did indeed die at the hands of the male protagonist. It suddenly became clear that pure happy ending was not what the director wanted.
The director never denied the dark side of human nature, but let it exist quietly in the dark. The cruelty of reality is destined to be unable to be eliminated, and sin is not easy to calculate and repay like arithmetic problems. In this world, no one lives completely in the sun.
Thinking back to Matt's ending sentence, it is really full of emotion. He thanked the three women, thanks to the forgiveness of a woman whose soul was broken by you, thanks to the love of a woman who has experienced hell, and those who can make up for our mistakes. These three sentences focused the camera on three women: Danny's mother who lost her son, her lover Olivia, and the policewoman.
I have to say that the plot of "The Innocence" does have bugs that cannot be ignored. For example, why not upload the video to the Internet and expose the evil directly? Why can't the National Special Crimes Division even open a safe? Why does a male police officer clearly want to hide the past, but he always talks about the video when he sees people, because he is afraid that others will not be able to hold his own weakness?
But such an annual drama series that bravely explores the dark side of human nature and strives to shape female group portraits is really worth remembering in this era.
