There is such a city called "Alpha City". This is a deadly icy future city, a "dead city" without love and mercilessness. Everything must follow the "logic" under the rule of a supercomputer called "Alpha 60". Anyone who violates it will be shot. People living here have dull expressions, their life thinking is strictly controlled, and they have lost all the joys, sorrows, sorrows and joys that humanity should have. Remy Kexiong, an agent from another world, began his exploration of Alpha City. His main purpose was to bring the designer of this city, Dr. Wan Buhan, back to his world. During the visit, he met Dr. Wanbuhan's daughter Natasha, and the two fell in love. Here, the filter theory of Fromm's social unconsciousness is introduced.
Social filter: Fromm believes that any actual experience or experience from life must first pass through a "social filter" before it rises to the level of consciousness, and those that cannot pass are suppressed into the unconscious. Social filters are divided into three areas: language, logic, and social taboos. In other words, a society decides which things can be talked about on the stage, and which things should be kept silent. If you can’t talk about something, you must find a way to make it disappear.
1. Language
Language controls our perception of the world. A language always dictates the speaker's attitude towards life through its vocabulary, grammar, syntax and root meaning. Language not only affects the content of experience, but also reflects people's attitude towards life. And some languages, especially those that are not conducive to "management and harmony", are not allowed in society, and such words or characters will be blocked.
Two, logic
Logic refers to the form and law of thinking. With different logic, the way of organizing thinking is different, and people's cognition of things cannot be the same. Give an inappropriate example. I want to deprive you of your love and freedom in the name of "for your good", so the logic is "behavior-for your good", not "I want to deprive you of your love and freedom"; in World War II, Hitler said "The Germanic nation fights" to start a war, the logic is "behavior-revitalize the nation", rather than "launch a war-life disastrous", and the misinterpreted logic will rationalize everything.
Three, social taboos
Social taboos clearly stipulate which thoughts are inappropriate, forbidden, and dangerous, and try their best to prevent these thoughts or emotions from reaching the level of consciousness, even if they already exist in the realm of consciousness, it must force them to leave. The content filtered out by social taboos is "harmful" to a class and society.
