My fate with "Jiang Ge"

This is the first Italian Macaroni Western I have ever seen, and it is also the most impressive one.

One night when I was 5 or 6 years old in the early 1990s, this movie was broadcast on a local video station. I remember that relatives came to my home. The host and the guest enjoyed this rare movie together. The first half of the content is basically forgotten. I only remember that this taciturn cowboy repeatedly competed with the local bully for the beautiful girl. He had nothing to do with his hair, but until he clicked it, he repeatedly let go of the bully leader; in the end, his hand was maimed by the bully leader. Yes, but he put his gun on the cross of the graveyard and shot everyone to death with his arm, which is still fresh in my memory. Searching for it for many years to no avail, once thought it was a dream.

Until 2013, Quentin’s new film "Liberated Jiang Ge" was about to be released. I saw the trailer saying that it was based on an earlier Western film. I suddenly thought of this film, but I didn’t know what I was looking for at the time. What is it? After describing the plot in the Western movie bar, people answered that it was actually the "Jiang Ge" in front of me.

If you look at it by current standards, this film is undoubtedly very rough-the plot is open, inconsistent, and the characters are heavily facialized. But like all the cultural products of that era, some of its characteristics are not available in today's movies. That kind of vigorous personal heroism, masculine masculinity and strong sense of substitution are enough to make people embarrassed. The theme idea The strong punishment in the evil and the promotion of good, "follow the clothes and hide the merits and fame deeply" make people happy. Especially the theme music shows Tiehan's tenderness.

Django quotes

  • [last lines]

Maj. Jackson: [preparing to kill Django] Django, I think you should make a last request! I'll be glad to oblige you any way I can. Start praying if you like, I don't mind. It's a smart thing to do when you know that death is coming for you. How come you haven't you got your burial suit with you? We'll have to leave you to the vultures! So now, begin your prayer...

[shoots a side of Mercedes Zaro's cross]

Maj. Jackson: I can't hear ya!

    [reloads and fires]

    Maj. Jackson: Okay... now!

    [reloads and fires twice]

    Django: Can you hear THIS?

[shoots Major Jackson and his gang]

  • Django: Tell Jackson I'll be waiting at the cemetary. Understand? There's just the two of us now. I'll be waiting.
