The location is Mosul, the largest human battlefield in the first 20 years of this century.
The "task" of the anti-narcotics police: track down drug dealers and enforce laws in wars. A policeman died, and a policeman joined the Nineveh Special Police Force. What is ridiculous is that there is also a police officer’s family. During the civil war in his country, part of it was lost to the hands of the American imperialism, and part of it immigrated to the United States.
The "task" of drug dealers: drug trafficking to fund ISIS. Arrested by the police and frightened during the rescue of ISIS, the Nineveh special police team cut their throats and killed them in a tooth-for-tooth manner. The police is a violent organ of the law, and the law loses its effect during the war, as if everything should be done for granted. The crimes committed by other individuals were attributed to the organization and were retaliated against the individuals in the organization. In a sinful organization, no individual is immune.
The "mission" of the first ISIS team: rescue drug dealers, charge forward shouting "Allegiance to the Islamic State", not afraid of death. Lack of training, no body armor. With more to less, the casualties were heavy.
The "task" of the police in the ISIS camp: release the signal flare to guide the ISIS side. Police, friend. One is here and one is over there. It became an enemy. It was later discovered that ISIS was forced to survive and was killed by Carl and his friend. People who want to live but can't live.
The "task" of a self-detonating car: self-detonation with the flare. When watching this scene, I was thinking about the operator of this car who blew himself up. It is a firm belief in what can be so decisive. Was it "brainwashed", or I really believed it. Did he see to confirm the location of his target? Or it's just pure, when he got to the position of the flare, he should have blew himself up. Is it "I recommend Xuanyuan with my blood"?
The "task" of transporting the physical child on the road: bury the body of the dead father. My brother was wounded and didn't trust outsiders. I don't want my brother to leave. I want to take care of my family. The younger brother followed the Nineveh Special Police and was delivered to another family in a safe area. Start a new life on this trip? Or start a new revenge? The younger brother's severe confusion, confusion, anxiety and numbness. The blood and blood in the chaos of war are too far away from us and too close to us.
The "task" of the federal police guarding the checkpoints: perhaps to prevent others from going along with the camp, or to maintain social order. Official money, held in the wallets of ISIS members, was used by the Nineveh Special Police Team to bribe federal police. It seems to be a black humor. When threatened by a member of the Nineveh Special Police, he seemed stunned, disdainful, and seemed to have nothing to do with him.
The "task" of the ISIS sniper: snipe and kill the enemy. I don’t know if it’s for “soldiers to obey orders,” or “allegiance to the Islamic State”, or “the other party wants my life so I will kill them so I can live”, or revenge or something else. Slowly die in pain. The curly-haired elder brother was killed by ISIS, so after the curly-haired slaughtered ISIS, he should use his mobile phone to take pictures to comfort his elder brother (or to comfort himself?). Then the curls died. The business of taking pictures continues. The painful death is also continuing, happening here and there. Among the evils of the group, the people who may be innocent are not innocent.
The "task" of the Iranian forces: fight with NATO ammunition, exchange cigarettes, catch prisoners, and get benefits. One of the few smiles. It seems to be experiencing a game, or profiting from the suffering of others.
The "task" of the Nineveh Special Police Force: rescue the relatives and family members of the members, fight with ISIS, take revenge, and occasionally help the weak. Sustained hard, acted, sacrificed in the battlefield. As the main perspective, it shows us a corner of the battlefield. As outsiders, it is impossible to judge whether their sacrifices are noble, whether the victory in the wasteland belongs to them.
War, one of the most violent activities of mankind, is so complicated.
Each party has its own "task", position, interest, moral restraint, and revenge.
The task of "I" is: to live, to perform duties, to take care of the family, to return to peace, to fulfill aspirations, to kill, power, money, oil interests, imperial hegemony, etc.
People in it can't help themselves.
Those who are fighting or preparing to fight, why are you fighting this war? What is your "task"?
