I hope that a hundred years later, the wildness of the earth will remain

I am thirty-three years old this year. When I was young, I remembered that there was a small river in front of the door. Whenever it rained, the water in the small river rose. But now it's already done, and it's filled up, it's the way.

I remember that the wells in the past, ten to twenty meters, can be dug out sweet and delicious well water, but now, it already takes at least 100 meters to punch out water with a layer of oil.

I remember the summer when I was a child, the sound of knowing the sound, the sound of crickets, the many trees in the backyard, the rustling leaves, all tasted summer, but now, there is nothing left.

I remember that before I went to university, I didn't even know what smog was. The invisible winter made me think that the end of the world was the end of the world, but now, it seems that the end of the world is not far away from us.

Think about it, I'm only 33 years old, and the environment has changed drastically since I can remember. The older generations often say: We can't see the world in the future, so let's recognize them as destroying it. Our generation will be able to resist the past. When I got to me, I thought: Can my generation bear it?

Protecting the environment requires a change in consciousness, and changing consciousness requires education.

Ecosystem needs a food chain, and human beings rely on clever intelligence to stand on the top trying to control and dominate nature, but it is counterproductive and is backlashed by nature.

We are blindly grateful for the successive industrial revolutions, allowing us humans to enjoy the victorious posture, but at the cost of extinction for all species except humans. On the contrary, we are complacent, which is a loophole in civilization.

I hope that human civilization can coexist harmoniously with all species other than human beings.

I hope that in a hundred years, the wild nature of this earth will remain.

David Attenborough: A Life on Our Planet quotes

  • David Attenborough: This is not about saving our planet, it's about saving ourselves. The truth is, with our without us, the natural world will rebuild.

  • David Attenborough: The living world will endure. We humans cannot presume the same. We've come this far because we are the smartest creatures that have ever lived. But to continue, we require more than intelligence. We require wisdom.
