It's a thriller, but it doesn't seem to be scary. I don't know if the threshold for this kind of film has been lowered now. Although the director has been using lights, screams and other forms to express the so-called tension, at least the information I received was normal. When I watch a movie, I don’t look at the brief introduction. Usually the title attracts me first, followed by the actors, and finally the poster. This habit needs to be changed. After all, the posters of some films reveal too much plot. Focus on this, don’t look at the poster in advance. In order not to be spoiled, I don't put up posters either.
A full 301 days have passed since a family of three hid in a basement in order to avoid "breathing monsters". Everyone has some neurotic moments, and there is an inexplicable sense of suffocation, including the strange dialogue between them. For a long time, I couldn’t figure out what they were being persecuted. I even thought it was because of their psychological problems. The enemies who came out didn't choose to believe them until I saw the ruins outside through the observation mirror. The beginning of the chapter uses a lot of close-up shots to show the family hiding a day: the mother's spirit is very tense, but she still tries to calm her emotions, keep a calm communication with the child, teach the child to learn; the father is a master of psychology, he can quickly calm down The child who is on the verge of collapse, playing games and imagining, his tender affection for his daughter dilutes the vague weirdness. This daily routine reminds me of Annie.
Father said they might be the only ones who survived. This makes me worry about their future. And a rat that stole food caused a series of crises. The way the family handled the crisis was very awkward. The fear and panic reached a peak, which still made me feel weird, but the facts proved that they were right. The "breathing monster" followed the traces. At the most dangerous moment, the father confessed to the mother to remember that the child is the first one. This was said more than once in the film, which was regarded as an important motive. The storyline began to flip here. I didn't expect it to be like this. I went back to read the opening chapter and discovered that there was a hidden mystery in those conversations, but I didn't understand it. This is also the first time I have seen such a reversed film, but it suddenly dawned on me to worry more for them.
The mother's hands-on ability far exceeds that of the father, which is quite a cute setting. Probably because little girls are usually closer to their fathers, letting fathers assume the role of warm men, so the rest can only be handed over to the mother. Speaking of horror, the father failed to chase the mouse, and the mother started to solve the scene, which was a little uncomfortable. The hiding place they found was very suitable. They could pump water, food, and even toys. But food will be consumed, and no one knows how long it can survive underground. Compared with "breathing monsters", not seeing hope is the most scary thing.
After reading it, I felt quite uncomfortable. Although I knew that this was just a fantasy story, the possibility of existence in life was almost zero, but it was still uncomfortable. When there is only one thing left in life, is there any point in it? Fathers and mothers work hard to live for their children. The children are the future. But when there is no future in this future, is it necessary to do so? At the end of the film, the mother brought her child to join her neighbors. Before entering another underground space, the child looked at the sunlight and said that this was a new day, the 302th day. I suddenly felt that, let's live, and since I have never given up, let's live, work hard, and live well.
