I downloaded this movie for two reasons. One is that it is a science fiction movie, which is my favorite type of movie, and the other is that it is starring Tim Robbins. In fact, I should have only watched one of his movies: Shawshank's Redemption, and I downloaded this movie just two days ago and watched it again.
The film was mainly shot in Shanghai. The first shot was a car running across the vast and desolate suburbs of Shanghai. The music at the beginning also attracted me deeply. The calm and soothing and somewhat lazy music, like Xu Wei's "Lover", is also very similar. The song The First Time at the beginning of U2 in "Million Dollar Hotel". Shanghai has become a huge isolated castle. It seems to have allusions and satire on the temporary residence system. It is very clever. I can easily describe it as a movie with political implications, but I am too lazy to extend it and keep it plain. Bar.
Science fiction is only a background of this movie. In fact, it is a romance film: out of the prevention of the occurrence of incest that may be caused by gene cloning technology in the future, code 46 is a regulation to strictly control the occurrence of this situation. Tim fell in love with it. It was a woman who had the same genes as herself who would not hesitate to violate this regulation, and the end result was that Tim was cleared of this memory and went home to reunite with his family, while the woman was banished to the desolate city outside, alone in the wilderness. Walking, remembering the past that he can't remember again.
The whole film is very dull. Even at the end, the exiled heroine murmured I miss you, but it was also very plain. The director seemed to have no sensational thoughts, and the era when memories could be easily erased, there was probably nothing left. People feel shocked.
There is no special evaluation, because movies are the same as life, and there is no feeling that can make me passionate, and nothing to say has become the most shocking feeling for me.
