Key vote

Due to a machine failure, a certain vote is not counted and needs to be re-voted. It just so happens that the votes of the two presidential candidates are very close, and the whole country has been counted. What's more, the state is evenly counted, and the protagonist's vote is missing. So this vote directly determines who can become the president of the United States. This kind of storyline itself is very interesting, plus it is a comedy, which is likable; and what is terrible is that we watch "one person decides the fate of the world" this kind of obscene type of story. , There will be a kind of enthusiasm that can't help it. Of course, the most important thing is...I understand, I won’t say it, it looks like a strong aphrodisiac is added to us, the fire burns the heart, the desire to stop...

stop talking nonsense. The protagonist Bud is an irresponsible person, drunk all day, frustrated in life, and finally lost his job. He didn't register at the polling station. His daughter Molly helped him register secretly. Let's call Bud a citizen for the time being: he doesn't care about politics, let alone who will be the president. He doesn't care about his life at all. Maybe the only thing he cares about is his daughter. This absurd comedy started in this way, allowing a person who is neither responsible nor concerned about politics to decide who can eventually live in the White House. It’s not so much a comedy, it’s a political propaganda film; unlike our political propaganda, we promote loyalty to leaders: the film promotes that politics is about the destiny of each of us, and every vote is very precious. To be familiar with current affairs, to understand the political ideas of each candidate, to make a comprehensive consideration, and finally make a decision before voting.

When the news reported that Bud was the key voter in deciding who would be the next president, the development became both logical and literally absurd. First, the national media flocked to this obscure town. Bud’s face was posted almost every moment on TV. Anything he did would make news headlines on TV. Then the president and another presidential candidate began to fight each other. This kind of action to win him: find Bud's favorite star, threaten him and intimidate him if he does not choose what the United States will become, talk about common hobbies to get closer, and deliberately lose money to him in playing cards, in order to win him even if it violates his own Principles of conscience and so on. It's not just Bud. Every ordinary little person of us encounters such extraordinary moments. I think 99% of them will feel lighthearted and think of themselves as a big person. There is always no shortage of the smell of money beauty. There will also be no shortage of crowds swarming around and patrolling horses. As the saying goes, the authorities are fans of the bystanders, if I were touted for such a while, I would most likely not know where I was floating. "I will never have such a glorious moment in my life! I have to enjoy it and make the most of this opportunity." I must think so.

On the one hand, it is absurd, but on the other hand, it is also explained: every vote is precious, and every vote is valued so much that it is so absurd.

There are many interesting things about the movie. For example, the two presidential candidates look like good people. In fact, there is no obvious bad guy in this movie, but people who look good. If there are two candidates, one feels better, and the other is obviously worse, it is indeed easy to vote; however, without serious and difficult consideration, the movie will be mediocre at the same time.

The movie ends well, debate is second, and voting is also second (only for movies; in real life who debate and vote is extremely important), the important thing is that Bud has become a person who doesn’t care about politics overnight. A citizen who takes it seriously. So, what made Bud change? There are female reporters, and news media’s enthusiasm. There are various canvassing actions by the two candidates, and there are changes in the attitude of the residents of the town. The most important thing is his daughter Molly, because Bud really cares about her. Although Molly is only 12 years old, she cares about current affairs and the feelings of different people. She may not be clear about "If you don't care about politics, politics will care about you", but she expressed in the film that "a rich and powerful country will also decline." , And in order to avoid repeating the mistakes of history, this is why voting is so important." (My brief summary, not the original words)

In the plot at the end of the movie, Bud asked the two candidates to have a debate. Bud asked questions. The questions were letters sent like snowflakes from all over the country, which described the plight of life to him, asking him to try to improve. I think this ending is very good. Compared with the two candidates given in the movie, it is easier to choose one of them, which is more reasonable, more realistic and more convincing.

"Give me the feeling that he is more friendly..." "He looks more handsome..." "My relationship with him is better..." "If you don't vote for him, it will damage our friendship..." Please, this It's not the polls on Weibo and WeChat Moments, it's not that you feel cute, handsome, friendly, patriotic, play the relationship card, or whoever makes a promise that will move you more! You have to be familiar with the news of the candidates, know what they have done, know their ruling philosophy, views and solutions to various social problems, etc., and finally get to know the most direct and true thoughts of the candidates through live debates. Our kind of building selection team leader, neighborhood committee members or generations: remember to vote in the square before 5 o'clock this weekend. If you don’t know whom to vote for, just fill in the same as others. And don't forget when you leave, remember to get a small gift after voting, everyone has it. Two towels and a box of soap.

At the end of the movie, some people think that the debate should be shown to let the audience know who Bud finally voted for. For the movie, it doesn’t matter who you vote for, and the debate is not important. What’s important is Bud’s self-examination and self-analysis before the debate: the whole world is laughing at me, this big idiot, ready to see me embarrassed, two The candidates were also extremely diligent to me and even violated their own principles; I am a useless loser. I used to have dreams and ambitions, but those have long since disappeared, leaving only the frustrated me sitting here. I should do something meaningful, and I should pay more and take responsibility... These lengthy remarks that are of little significance to the plot are clearly meant for the audience.

And in fact, the film did not seriously discuss why the voting process is so important, nor did it explain the substantial significance of the voting, nor did it cause national conflicts and chaos. The film mainly shows Bud was finally run away from home because of the flattery. The daughter wakes up and binds the little father-daughter love to the election vote, which makes the audience resonate emotionally. In addition, the absurd plot is likely to trigger a national disaster, and it does make people appear a little bit. Be vigilant, be aware that our real world can happen at any time, and the GDR will also select a Hillert.

Voting is a manifestation of democracy; and democracy, democracy is not a goal. Democracy is a process of making mistakes and making corrections, and it is a living habit. The result is of course important, but more important is the process.

The story and the rhythm are very good, the film starts and turns very smoothly, the actors' acting skills are also great, and the emotional mobilization is very good. The more I see from behind, the more faintly feel that there is a force to rise... However, no matter how much I say, it is nothing more than a game for me. It's just a play.

PS: I originally wanted to use this title, "The best things are often the ones I have never had before", or "The things I can't get are always the best", just think about it and forget it.
