"Falling Dog" is Quentin Tarantino's debut, released in 1992. Like most of Quentin's works, "Falling Water Dogs" received a mediocre response in the United States, but it was widely welcomed in Europe. Although it is a debut novel, Quentin's personal style in "Falling Dog" is very distinctive, with surreal editing techniques, black comedic humor, direct cold-blooded violence, and seemingly nonsensical but interesting continuous dialogue.

"Falling Dog" was written and directed by Quentin Tarantino. The plot is very simple. A pair of triad father and son planned a diamond robbery and found 6 people with a criminal record to execute it. However, among the six people, there are One was an undercover policeman, so he was ambushed by the police during the crime and a fierce gun battle occurred. Two of the robbers died on the spot. After the others escaped, they came to a pre-appointed meeting place. One of them hijacked a policeman while escaping. Several people tried to extract the identity of the rape from the policeman. However, they caused infighting during the torture process. In the end they shot at each other and the surviving one or two people were rushed in. The attacking police shot and killed.

If such a plot is directed by Steven Soderbergh, the director of "11 Arhats," the focus of the film should be on the planning and execution of the robbery, with intelligence and ingenuity as the focus of the film. If it were directed by Martin Scorsese, the director of "The Gangs of New York", the focus of the film should be on the blood-licking careers of several characters and portray the end of the underworld in a killer elegy. If it is directed by Wu Yusen, the director of "Heroes", the focus of the film should be on the brotherhood between the robbers and the violent beauty of the shootout. If it is directed by Francis Coppola, the director of "The Godfather," the focus of the film should be on the deep mood of the underworld boss and portray the rise and fall of a underworld empire in full color. If it is directed by David Lynch, the director of "Mulholland Avenue", the focus of the film is estimated to be on the distorted and manic inner emotions of the characters. The diamonds and gunfights in the film will emit gloomy cold light. As a symbol of this emotion.

But Quentin Tarantino is not one of those directors. He put the focus of those directors aside and tells a story that belongs only to Quentin. First of all, at the beginning of the story, everyone appeared and sat in the dining room for breakfast. These people talked a lot of nonsense conversations, and the point was actually to bring out the names of these people. Except for the underworld father and son, the names of the other six people happened to be in six colors. Everyone ate out of the meal and set off from the restaurant mightily. After that, they received the second act-the action failed, and the members fled to the pre-arranged warehouse in turn. The beginning and end of the robbery are placed at the beginning of the film, and then it depends on how to bring out the event planning process, the robbery implementation process, and the follow-up actions for the failure of the robbery. Quentin used two methods to tell the story in this part, one is the dialogue between the characters, and the other is the interruption of independent fragments. Different from the gathering of all the members at the beginning, in the subsequent plot, the characters come to the meeting place one by one, and the related facts are added one by one.

The two people who first arrived at the warehouse started talking nonsense. They brought out the fact that a few people went to rob, a gun battle occurred in the process, and a member was killed, and an episode of the past about one of the two was inserted, which explained that the underworld called this The second action was to rob a batch of diamonds in a few minutes in broad daylight. When the third member arrived, he brought out the arrangement of the underworld father and son asking everyone to match the color code, and brought out the fact that there was an internal rape. Here, how the third person had a gun battle with the police and how to escape smoothly, was right. An explanation of the robbery. When the fourth member arrived, he brought suspicions between the members and brought a policeman to clear the way to find the rape. A review of the fourth member was inserted here, showing that this person has a deep friendship with the underworld father and son, and is still a person who likes to hurt people with a razor. Immediately after the son of the father and son of the underworld arrived, he took two of the members to dispose of the car outside. The purpose was to make room for Quentin's violent aesthetics to be displayed, and to bring out the true identity of the rape. Here, the reason and process of the insider's involvement in the operation are interrupted. The son of the underworld and two members came back and found that the fourth member was killed by another member. The son of the underworld killed the policeman and suspected that the other member was a rape. In these two paragraphs, Quentin's unique continuous shooting is staged, and every time the character shoots, he must hit a bullet. Finally, the underworld father came and brought news that one member had died, and pointed out that the murder of the fourth member was the rape. As a result, the other member disagreed and shot at each other with the father and the son. The father and the son died. The member was seriously injured. Finally, the insider admitted that he was an insider, and when the seriously injured members were about to shoot him, the police broke in, gave an order, and a shuttle of bullets.

The film does not describe the pre-planning of the action, nor does it perform the implementation process of the robbery, does not mention the background of the triad boss, nor does it mention the background history of several members, not to mention brotherhood, these people are not at all. How to get to know each other. The seemingly empty plot can be made into a fun movie by Quentin Tarantino. Out-of-order editing, nonsensical dialogue, and violence are the main characteristics of Quentin Tarantino. It is easy to find humor and calming interest in Quentin’s works, but it is difficult to find the entangled emotions and hearts. The struggle, the sorrow of the world, the rise and fall of the family. The characters in Quentin's works are generally expressed in swearing rants, babbling about things, or happily telling jokes. Few characters are contemplative, everything is on the face, and there is no interpretation of inner drama. Originally, the direct and superficial plot and dialogue would make the work seem low-level and substandard, but Quentin used creative editing methods to give the film an alternative and ghostly effect. Originally, the scattered editing method can easily make the audience lost, but Quentin can use a lot of nonsensical but funny dialogue to connect the content of the clip, and keep the whole film in the same atmosphere and marching rhythm. Therefore, although Quentin Tarantino's works often have mixed reputations in the United States, there are always a large number of loyal supporters in Europe, which focuses on expressive methods and feelings.
