The plot of this movie is very simple. It neither describes too much about South Africa’s apartheid policy, nor does it describe too much about the wit and courage between ourselves and the enemy in the prison. After the final escape, it did not explain too much about the longer escape. Instead, too much plot is placed on the process of jailbreaking.
So, for this movie, if you understand the causes and consequences of South Africa’s apartheid policy, the director does not need to describe too much. You know that this is a movie to fight for the freedom of blacks before going to prison, and to be free for yourself after going to prison. After the successful struggle, escape from prison has been a history of struggle for blacks and for their own freedom. The director expressed his unyielding faith.
If you don’t understand the history of South Africa, you will regard this film as a locksmith’s story or a prison escape movie. Although the plot is simpler, the tension of night escape is also good.
