Thought it was a Netflix original movie

Recently, a set of ultra-low-cost American independent film "Time trap" was quietly released, and it was released on the same day as Netflix's original "big production" and "Project Power", which advertised as the "summer holiday finale". The two are both throwing out new and sci-fi bridges. "Project Super Power" starts to establish a grand world view and then destroys it back to the typical action story in the second half. "Cave of Time" cleverly paves a mysterious cave to face the world view. The unknown, uneasy, and sense of horror gradually increase, and then the protagonist will lead the audience to uncover the secrets and gradually expand the world view. The atmosphere is not bad. The story is limited to a single sealed space but the rich world view unfolds to draw more suspenseful parts. However, the movie committed the same problem as the "Super Power Project". The world view was too grand and the ending could not be justified. It had to add the protagonist's ability without preconditioning, and some of the suspense was not resolved.

"Macrospace" tells a group of archeology students who came to a mysterious cave in search of the missing professor. They were trapped in it for some reason. They found that the time in the cave passed faster than the surface, and the space in the cave seemed to have no end. Forced to participate in an adventure race against time...

The story frame of the movie is very trivial. In the early part, it first describes the relationship between the characters and the reasons for participating in the rescue. It is just like the "Adventure Little Tigers" that I watched in elementary school. After discovering the abnormal situation of time, we can confirm the existence of the problem by witnessing it with our own eyes, thereby initially establishing a suspicion and establishing a good atmosphere of shock. However, disputes or mistrust between female characters repeatedly appeared on the adventure road, putting safety at risk and quickly Destroy the rhythm and destroy the atmosphere.

Movies are Netflix's favorite high-concept stories. Big data combines different types of elements. It not only touches the anomaly of time passing under the skin of science fiction, but also speeds up the welcome to the future world. It also adds primitive elements to put aside primitive attacks. The protagonists’ motives are unclear, and why the protagonists are not interested in them as archaeology students. The primitive people acted as the horns of the cave throughout the whole process, becoming a functional role to promote the development of the plot, turning the suspenseful tone of the story into a cliché.

The finale is to use a higher-tech element to easily solve all the problems of the protagonists. However, it never mentions all the foreshadowing and suspense laid down by the movie, such as the identity of the mysterious man in black who entered the cave and why the cave is distorted. The movement of time, why the mysterious spring water is effective, etc., I feel that the movie is perfunctory for the end.

The horror and gradual increase in suspense constructed in the early part of the story is to grasp the hook of the audience. The later shift of focus has the same problem as the "Super Power Project", which generates expectations that are inconsistent with the audience, and can only be cast aside by the audience.

Movies can be watched on Netflix.

The concept is good, the ending is too sloppy

Time Trap quotes

  • Taylor: So what are we doing here?

Hopper: Well, my grandfather used to tell me the future can give you anything you want. If you wait long enough, the future will create it. Maybe through technology, or maybe just by making you not want it anymore. Either way, the answer's in the future.

  • Furby: Uh, not to overstep my bounds, but uh... your girlfriend could be really annoying sometimes.

Taylor: Cara's not my girlfriend, dude.

    Furby: Uh, she's not?

Taylor: No. Sometimes, I don't even think she's a girl.

Furby: Oh, she's totally a girl.
