Annoying father and son

After I watched this film, I always felt something was wrong. I think the father and son in this movie didn't do anything annoying, but why did I hate them so much after watching the movie? Although the logic of this movie is chaotic and the role is thin, it seems that this is not a reason. After all, there are so many bad movies, but there are not so many particularly annoying protagonists.

After thinking about it for about a day, I probably figured it out.

There are two main reasons. The first is the way the hero is shaped by the movie. The actor’s appearance was brought out through the words of the giant dwarf. I forgot what he said specifically. The effect should look like this: "When he first knows how to walk, he will count calculus. After two years of drawing, he will get it. International awards, and so on, etc., anyway, he's not good, don't try to beat him."

This introduction, coupled with the awkward tone of the giant dwarf, makes me feel that he is not introducing a positive character at all, but like introducing a villain, and this villain is not even a big monster, because of this The exaggerated tone of the "men" and the arrogant attitude are basically used in film and television dramas and even comics to reflect how strong this demon is. Therefore, this introduction should be rationed to a "grand appearance, but in fact It’s just a cutscene, and the protagonist will kill him when he comes up, showing how powerful the protagonist is." So this opening made me dislike the protagonist. Moreover, this giant dwarf also used this tone when introducing the main character's bodyguard, and the skill that the bodyguard showed afterwards was really too general, and it made people feel that this family really had a villainous temperament for playing soy sauce.

In addition, the protagonist has a scene that provokes the psychologist in the introduction, which is even more annoying. The provocation of psychologists has also appeared in many geniuses who describe psychological disorders. Basically, they have no effect of disgusting the protagonist. I think everyone should be well aware that those geniuses really have serious psychological disorders. , And these obstacles are caused by childhood shadows or other serious things, so everyone can understand that they are unwilling to receive treatment, insecure, and hope to use provocations to protect their mentality, just like the situation in "Mind Catcher", but This kid here is different. The movie didn’t say that he had any psychological trauma (it is in the book, but it was ignored in the movie). He has had no worries about food and clothing since he was a child, lives in a rich family, and is lucky to be handsome. The gene with high IQ was not absent from his father. He has always been with him with various teachings. If this kind of child who wants wind and rain and rain is particularly arrogant and does not know how to respect people, he can only give people "he is defiant, really lacking." "Tutoring" this feeling. And I have always hated this "dominant president" style.

Another reason why I dislike this movie is the shaping of the relationship between this child and his father. These two people gave me a feeling that this child was born by his father alone, and there is no mother at all. . Just like the bounty hunter and his cloned son in Star Wars. There was no element of mother in the movie at all. Even in the big house where the father and son lived, there was no detail about the existence of the child's mother. Where did his mother go, and what effect did this have on him? Everything is omitted in the film, and it always shows the atmosphere of this child’s life as if it hasn’t been affected at all. This makes me feel very unreal (actually this This kind of unreality is also reasonable. After all, there is a mother in the book, and the mother has a lot of influence on the protagonist, and it is completely removed from the movie), and it also achieves a negative effect-it makes me feel that this father and son The two were very ruthless. So anything that happened afterwards, I couldn't empathize with the father and son, so that when the father was arrested, I even felt like "who TM cares".

In short, as an adapted film, this film did not capture the "human nature" in the book. In fact, when I saw that the director was Kenneth Branagh, I was already a little worried. The film did not let you I am "disappointed".
