"After the gunshots, there is no winner." This was originally just an ad slogan for public service advertisements to ban poaching, but it is also appropriate to describe war.
War may be a very distant word for us who now have a happy life. It seems to be accessible only in TV news or political textbooks in middle schools. However, for those who are in a special environment, it is a cruel injury. Today, the story I want to tell is from the American drama "Sea Leopards".
In the early morning, Sana'a, Yemen, a family was sleeping peacefully. At this time, there was a dog barking in the yard, and the male owner in his sleep was awakened, so he picked up the AK rifle by the bed and got up to check. When he came downstairs, the host nervously pointed his gun at the door. Suddenly, a group of heavily armed American soldiers broke in. Before the host could respond, the daughter rushed out of the room to try to protect her father. The soldier in the head shot the girl instinctively in the shoulder. Afterwards, the girl fell to the ground, and the SEALs quickly took control of the entire house.
After some interrogation, the male host learned that what the Americans were looking for was a cell phone, a cell phone that had connections with terrorists. Although the male owner claimed that he did not have this mobile phone in his home, and he had never participated in any terrorism-related matters. However, just when everyone thought that the intelligence was wrong, the SEALs broke into the home of an innocent civilian and shot a little girl, causing a serious impact, suddenly there was a clue. The host's youngest son took out a cell phone hidden in the sink, which was confirmed to be the one the Americans were looking for.
After a "long" search and interrogation, the commando found the owner of the phone, the little girl they had injured. It turned out that the girl’s best friend was killed in a war two years ago, and the murderer was the coalition forces of the United States and Saudi Arabia. The girl felt resentful and vowed to fight back for her good friend, so she met a "mentor" (a local terrorist) in the mosque and was willing to become a member of a terrorist organization. In the end, the SEALs took the little girl away, leaving her family alone in grief...
At this point in the story, many people may feel sorry for this Yemeni family. A teenage girl student was absorbed into a terrorist without her family's knowledge, and the happy family was instantly shattered. Yes, war is so cruel . It not only breaks people's original lives and makes many people displaced; more importantly, the harm it brings to people is indelible.
After the 9/11 incident, the US government invested a large amount of military force in the Middle East and North Africa, planning to eliminate local terrorist forces and maintain world peace. However, in recent years, terrorist actions have never ceased, as if endless. The US government's goal of maintaining world "peace" has obviously also failed.
"After the gunshots, there is no winner." This was originally an ad slogan for public service advertisements to ban poaching, but it is also appropriate to describe war. In recent years, the US government has indeed gained some benefits through military operations in the Middle East, but at the same time, it has also paid a heavy price. Since the 9/11 incident, countless American soldiers have died in the Middle East. Many of those who have survived have suffered from PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) after retiring.
Of course, terrorist armed forces are the same. They seem to be expelling outsiders, but they are actually hurting their own compatriots. Just like the little girl who was taken away in the play, at that flowery age, she should have been young, but because of the hatred brought by the war, she joined the forces of terror and eventually destroyed herself and her family. Therefore, although we now have a happy life, we cannot ignore the impact of war and that any act of war is cruel.
