Die peacefully

"This movie is not highly rated. Uncle Depp alone supports it." If you think so preconceived, you might miss what the movie wants to express.

The whole movie is very calm from beginning to end, surprisingly calm. When the professor learned that he was ill and died soon, when her daughter confessed her sexual orientation, and when his wife said cheating, he accepted these situations that ordinary people should have reacted to. why? Because he is a romantic "poet" wearing a realism cloak. In the film, he mentioned more than once that "the one that should come will come". This is not helplessness, but that he accepts the arrangement of fate. What's more, in the short time, those worldly entanglements and worries are not worth mentioning in the face of death.

After taking off his mask, he began to live as he pleased. He made an agreement with his surviving wife, broke the school's rigid teaching model, and enjoyed new experiences with gay students. These are the shackles he has always wanted to break through. He did it, but unfortunately it was the last time.

The film is developed in chapters, and it is no wonder that life is not a book, with a beginning and an end, with different contents. In the last days of his life, he left his mark as much as possible. At the same time, he is also fortunate to have a friend who never changes his wealth to accompany him all the time. Afraid? Afraid! In the face of death, it is estimated that no one can have a heart-stopping heart. Aren't you afraid? Actually, I'm not afraid! Rather than regret and regret, it is better to live this life long before death. That's it. In the last days of his life, everything seemed so peaceful, getting quieter and quieter, like a body that was losing its temperature.

But the reality is that an optimistic attitude cannot be exchanged for an optimistic ending. As the condition worsened, he began to weaken gradually, realizing the passing of his life. Began to understand how to be a good husband, a good father, a good teacher and a good friend. As a husband, he tried to make his wife happy and live with his wife as friends. As a father, he accepts everything from his daughter and encourages her. As a teacher, he teaches students how to cherish and persist in the simplest and most direct method. As a friend, he seized every opportunity to share the last time with his friends. The results of it? The result is the admiration of the wife, the love of the daughter, the respect of the students and the precious friendship. These are priceless treasures that you could not have before.

The professor is funny, arbitrary, cunning, mischievous, decadent, and unreasonable. But only, but not indifferent and ruthless. He used the secrets of his wife and the principal as a bargaining chip and signed a paid vacation. At the party, innuendo revealing the secret of the principal's derailment, and at the same time expressing his admiration for his wife and affection for his old friends with a heartfelt speech, all of which are carefully prepared. Taking the salary and insurance of American university professors, it should be possible to leave a certain amount of money for his wife and daughter, so at the end of the film he drove into the woods instead of the road. Disclosing the secret is a reminder to the principal's wife that it is time to change her husband. And that speech was a high-level summary of and reluctant to give up the feelings of husband and wife and old friends for many years. After doing this, the professor laughed and "on the road" happily. Therefore, he is kind.

Having said that, there are actually many details worthy of careful consideration. But no matter from which angle you analyze it, in my opinion, this is by no means a bad movie with clichés, cliché plots, and crude ideas. Because directors and actors who can interpret death so peacefully must not be the general ones.
