A dark musical.
First of all, this film is adapted from the stage play of the same name. The directors of the film and the stage play are Darren Lynn Bowsman, the director of several "Saw Cry", so the bloody scene should be imaginable.
In terms of actors, the most pleasant surprise was the addition of Sarah Brightman, who played the opera star Margaret (the one who died in the end was particularly miserable). In addition, Pals Hilton didn’t need to mention it, it was just a gimmick, but the role was set. Certainly it is very suitable for her in reality.
In terms of music, many of the songs based on electronic and rock are still very good, but there are a few supporting actors who are not good at singing. I used to think that singing a musical in Chinese sounded awkward when it came to a slow-paced place. I didn’t think that English songs would also have this awkwardness. I don’t know if it is because of the role needs, the director’s intention, or the composition needs to be improved.
In terms of production, it cannot be said to be perfect. 5 mao special effects and artificial scenery can be seen everywhere, but it can also be seen that it should be deliberately rough. Like many plasma films, the director pursues casual indulgence and bold imagination.
It is very suitable as background screen and music when opening PARTY.
