Evaluation

This is not a movie that describes the battle of Stalingrad from a macro perspective. Its protagonist is a group of German soldiers, telling their tragic experience on the battlefield. The movie allows us to see some scenes that are not seen in ordinary movies, but are not uncommon on the battlefield. These small scenes are indeed the result of the Germans' reflection on World War II.

As the film reveals, there is no winner on the battlefield, the Germans did not win, the Russians did not win, the soldiers at the bottom did not win, the generals did not win, the soldiers did not win, and the people did not win. War is the greatest tragedy in the world. Don't pay for the personal will and ambition of some sb politicians.

In addition, the soundtrack is good and the translation is bad (resource problem).

Stalingrad quotes

  • General Hentz: To sum it up, gentlemen... we're in deep shit.

  • Fritz Reiser: They say in Germany when you die as a soldier you are honored. That's something, isn't it? Siberia? Not for me. I'm cold enough.
