Since 2008, I have liked taylor and I have become a fan. She is about the same age as me, so listening to her songs feels particularly resonant. Taylor has always been a controversial person after her fearless album became popular, because she is so good, she has good songs, can create, and looks good. By the 1989 era, she was completely red, and red was unbearable. Because she is so perfect. After reading Miss Americana, I felt that I suddenly understood Taylor and the reasons for her success. The summary is as follows.
1. ambition,determination for success.
What 13-year-old girl would write in her diary: my life, my career, my dream, my reality?
2. humbleness
When her first country album became popular at the age of 16, she said: i give myself 5 seconds a day to be like: yes, this is happening, and the rest of the day i'm trying to figure out how i'm gonna make it last. Facing success, so calm and sober, not easy at a young age.
3. talent
Not much to say about this. It has always been said that her songs were written for her by others, but facts speak louder than words. She herself also said that story telling is her niche.
4. hard work
This is the deepest feeling after watching this documentary. jack antonoff (tay's collaborator since 1989 era) said:
no one is this good and works harder. if you're that good, usually you don't work that hard.
i think this is what it is.
After watching it, I have a feeling: Taylor is about to turn behind the scenes. After the age of 30, her exposure may become less and less.
I miss Obama so much, "kanye west is a jackass". haha.
Today I am going to have a cup of Americana to celebrate such a beautiful documentary of our Miss America. I hope she is happy.
