The Chinese PI wife who failed to reach south pole

After coming to the United States to study at grad school, I met many middle-aged male PIs who came out of the mainland to study Ph. A very common situation is that there are two or three children in their family, and their wives are either doing chores in their laboratory or simply being a housewife. I watched this film on a plane back to South Carolina from California. After the report of the meeting in California, a Chinese PI approached me to discuss related issues. Later, we had dinner together and chatted a little bit. When he said that his family had three children, I think his wife could only take care of the children and cook at home. The subsequent dialogue also confirmed my thoughts. Bernadette is fortunate that her two decades of bleak life can shine again, largely due to her almost anti-social personality. If she accepts treatment obediently and integrates into the hypocritical atmosphere of parenting in the neighborhood, she may not be able to take a step out of the South Pole. The wives of those Chinese PIs found their community, and then they could no longer do without their husbands and children during the conversation. If Bernadette is talented, how about these PI wives? In the 1990s, they were able to enter a good university for undergraduate studies. They may be born in a family with an older brother or younger brother. The educational resources that were once provided were tilted infinitely, but they still did it. It is not an exaggeration to say that when she entered a university with similar scores with the men who later became PI, she put in much more effort. When I saw Bernadette talking about her architectural concept with bright eyes at the end, I remembered the PI wife who was doing miscellaneous work in her husband's laboratory, pushing the experimental materials to be sterilized without thinking. Her value shouldn't be so, at least once she was on the same level as her husband! These stagnant wives eventually grew into koalas dependent on their husbands, and through communication with other academic koalas, they finally reached an inner self-consistent relationship.

The original novel is more complex and covers more topics-the influence and restriction of family, personal choice, and community environment on female creativity. And the movie highlights the warmth and love between mother and daughter

8.0/10 points. At first glance, Blu-ray. I don't know when I was young. When people pass middle age, they find that their achievements are not worth mentioning at all, and they will be deeply traumatized, leading to self-doubt, and thus causing a huge sense of fear. . .

Where'd You Go, Bernadette quotes

  • Bernadette: I just need you to know how hard it is for me sometimes.

    Bee Branch: What's hard?

Bernadette: The banality of life. But I retail the right to be incredibly moved by those little things no one notices. For better and worse.

  • Bernadette: I'll figure it out. I mean, that's what insomnia is for.
