"Snow Mountain": The Lonely Pervert Wen/Vulcan
After revenge from the shadows; everything is quiet. Did the souls who have passed away see the peaceful light of the other shore? ——Vulcan Ji. Inscription.
This is my first Norwegian movie; a horror movie. In the movies I have watched recently, this may be regarded as a surprising one. The movie tells the story of a couple of friends going skiing in an unfamiliar mountain area. One of them had an accident and was injured. He had to stay in an abandoned hotel and wait for tomorrow to park on the other side of the mountain. The car drove over and returned to the civilized world. They didn't know that in the hidden basement of this hotel lived a gloomy soul, hiding in the dark and watching them laughing, shining with cold killing air, waiting to eat them all at any time.
Kill one by one. For people who are obsessed with road movies or horror movies, such plots may not be new. Compared with other movies of the same type, this movie better completes its interpretation of human nature and does not appear to be just an ignorant killing. Tragedy; this movie should be classified as a tragic killing. Trying to interpret the cruelty of human nature and the shackles of the acquired environment on the shaping of human nature on the helpless and cruel cold-blooded killer. Undoubtedly, this film is a success.
The movie began with a lot of statistics and media reports on the winter skiing missing person tracking and search and rescue operations. This kind of beginning has established a basic gray tone for the film and also established a theme outside of horror films. That may be safe. I don't know what the situation in Norway is like. However, skiing seems more like a high-risk extreme sport. In winter, Norway may be more like a ski paradise carved out of snow and ice. In terms of such overall national conditions, the establishment of the theme of the film gives the film more meaning.
Whether the snow-capped mountains every year will actually engulf some people who have never returned and love skiing, we don't know. However, these statistics and media reports from the beginning of the movie may have some enlightenment for us. This movie is not just to scare us in an increasingly prosperous life, it has a heavier theme and preaching meaning. The choice of positioning determines that this movie is not just a mediocre work, because only the correct positioning can determine the style of a movie. If the style is low, no matter how many brilliant lens language and language are used in the movie. The technique is good, the movie will still look ordinary. Of course, this does not include the kind of film that only pursues the lens and takes the lens as the first way of expression; perhaps, for such a movie, its positioning is its lens.
This movie may even want to tell us how we can save ourselves when we face difficulties, and it points us to a clear way forward. Courage, unity, mutual assistance and fearlessly moving forward, such factors seem to be particularly important in this movie.
The overall style of the movie is clear and lively; even if it is not a fresh and lively story. Maybe because this is a Norwegian movie, because this strange country and these strange creators tell a terrible story that is no stranger, so this movie still gives me a good feeling. The inconsistency between the overall style of the movie and the style of this story gave me a fresh feeling; it is close to contrast but separate, fresh and lively is all the vigor of this movie itself, and what is hidden is a kind of sordid. Ice cold. The lens is just one of the choices. This kind of lens style is very rare. The application in this movie seems very abrupt, but it is successful.
Briskness is the inherent life attitude of these young people, and the lonely pervert who is hidden until the end becomes clear because of the correspondence between the beginning and the end of the movie. Perhaps this is the most rare unity and balance between the two. When applied to the lens, the film is undoubtedly beautifully set up and ingenious.
For the aesthetic definition of tragedy, the writer Junzi once said that beautiful things are destroyed; and a deeper level of tragedy refers to: when the character is forced to suffer from the outside, the character uses his own tragic character to realize the suffering. Most horror movies are tragedies. This movie is definitely a terrible tragedy; because this movie basically interprets the deep aesthetic definition of tragedy very well.
From the beginning of the movie when the media interviewed the heartbroken looking for the lost son, the mother began to tears down her face. I thought that maybe it was just a casual editing of the movie. However, corresponding to the beginning and the end of this scene are the memories of the lonely pervert before his death, the same crying mother, and a man. If these two are his parents, then this is one. What kind of human indifference and cruelty?
At that time, the man was just a boy, but he was abandoned and buried alive by his parents on the snow-capped mountain. The same birthmark on his face pointed the man to the boy who had disappeared that year, and the memory of his being awakened pushed this cruel humanity to a terrifying height. A desperate and crying mother, what she was struggling to find in the media was her son who was buried alive. Being a family has become an untrustworthy game. What is chilling is that in this world, what else is worthy of our trust. Gu Yanyu, who can't eat the tiger's poison, is completely shattered in this movie. Such a child, if it is a stranger, will inevitably make people feel pity, let alone his own flesh and blood. This film challenges the family love that has never been challenged, which may require more courage and imagination. The tragedy of many years ago doomed the tragedy of today. The five handsome protagonists are just a gorgeous footnote to the tragic life of this lonely but escaped pervert. The real tragedy is that when they met this man who had escaped from birth but no longer trusted anyone, when they became the martyrs of this man to avenge the world, their encounter made this happen that no one wanted to happen. tragedy.
A lonely pervert, a humanity that has been completely distorted because of childhood memories. He would rather hide among the long snow-capped mountains than return to the civilized world that advertises vain, because of the ruthless burying of his parents and the loneliness of his own luck. The pervert is just because of this appalling experience that activated the self-protection mechanism. In this movie, I saw a lone pervert, a pervert that I saw the most sympathy in the movie. No one knows how he spent these years, without saying a word, how to kill him to kill the mammals he eats will not win his mercy. Behind this kind of coldness is a colder world. His perversion is not his independent choice but an involuntary choice. Why should we criticize him.
When suffering is imposed on the character from the outside, the character realizes the suffering with his own tragic character. This character has a strong tragic sentiment, and his tragic character was created after suffering a terrible blood murder. Compared with him, there is no difference between these young people who are trying to save themselves like a few martyred shrines. His atrocities and killings were not unforgivable, because it was not his self-destruction and depravity that pushed him to this situation. Compared with this kind of human gloom, his bloody killing didn't make people feel terrible or even a piece of cake. The truly terrifying thing is that the unredempted cruelty and coldness of human nature makes people shiver even more.
I can't deny that this is still an extremely beautiful movie with a beautiful scene. In this movie, the snow-capped mountains in Norway have become so desirable; even if I haven't had time to learn to ski. And, swimming with friends has become so beautiful; because I have been trapped in my little room for so long. Maybe the story in the movie will never happen to me. Because, after all, it was such a terrifying nightmare. We may also be lucky, because there are no endless white snow-capped mountains and so sad lonely people around us. At least when we go out, we always return safely.
