The song and the scenery are pretty good

I didn't like it that much after watching the film. I feel that John’s old man is not old enough. It does not refer to his age or appearance, but his mentality is not old enough. Of course, it is not because he always talks about the beauty of sex that makes me think he is young. It is the over-arrogance, blind self-confidence, and unreal and contradictory interpretations in the retreat that make me uncomfortable. Allow me to say that. Personally, I feel that Bobby's suppressed and hidden feelings are not well expressed, and the expressed parts are exaggerated and out of control... Anyway, the music is indeed very suitable. That's all I want to say.

A Love Song for Bobby Long quotes

  • Lawson Pines: That girl looks so much like Lorraine. Remember the first time you took me to see her sing was my first time in New Orleans.

    [pause]

Lawson Pines: I was so taken.

Bobby Long: Well... you were kind of. You were kind of sheltered. Choked by that silver spoon.

Lawson Pines: I thought she was so beautiful.

    Bobby Long: She was.

  • Bobby Long: [singing] Mother, go make my bed, / Make it long and narrow. / My true love died for me yesterday, / I shall die for him tomorrow. She was buried in a church house yard, / And he was buried there beside her. And from his grave grew roses red, / From hers grew green briar. They grew and they grew so very high, / Till they could grow no higher; And at the top grew a true lovers' knot, / Twined with green briar.
