Lyon (Alexander Skarsgard) was cut in his neck by the propeller of a speedboat when he was a child. Because of his mother's belief, his mother refused to operate on him, causing Lyon to lose his voice for life.
Thirty years later, Lyon is living in Berlin, which is rapidly developing with high technology. I am a bartender in a bar, and I have become boy and girl friends with the waiter Nadira in the bar. Although life is embarrassing, the two little lovers purely enjoy the joy of love.
Lyon’s belief is that he never touches high-tech products, so his girlfriend gave him an original mobile phone as a gift, which Lyon cherished especially. The villain Kekster (Paul Rudd) runs a prosthetic clinic with his comrade Duck. Kekster has his own dream of saving enough money to take his daughter back to the United States, while Duck only wants to stay in Germany and live a life of worry-free food and clothing.
Lyon broke his beliefs and had to use high-tech products in order to find a girlfriend, and finally found the culprit Kekster who kidnapped his girlfriend. It turns out that Nadila has been raising money to bribe the military to capture Kekets. However, the plan did not succeed and was a step ahead by Kektes, and Nadira was brutally killed.
Duck betrayed Kekster and gave the address to Lyon. Lyon, who learned the truth, pierced his throat with Kektes' own knife. In the end Dak installed a vocal cord for Lyon in order to make him say sorry. Dak finally got his due retribution and was drowned in the water by Leon.
This is a unique science fiction film. The science fiction background seems to have no effect in the movie, but it is actually full of meaning. Alexander's silent and vocal performance is contagious. The inability to speak is because he has become a very simple and clear person. And advanced technology has not changed the hypocritical nature of human beings. There is also a little girl in the film who remains silent all the time. She is as pure and kind as Alexander and out of touch with the muddy world. It is inevitable that the two people will come together in the end.
