A rotten marriage must accompany each other

In the context of the victory of the Allied forces, the story of a British officer couple who lost their son occupying the home of a German designer father and daughter who lost their wife. The whole story shuttles between ethnic contradictions and emotional dependence, distorting human nature in the contrast and contradiction, with a tolerable and cold sobriety, the temperature is not cold. There are a large number of close-up shots depicting the delicate changes in the character's heart. The vision and plot are excellent.

The story develops in three contradictions:

The first is the officer's husband. No war has brought the officers' indulgence and violence. The opening sentence "Hamburg dropped a lot more bombs yesterday than it did on London in the whole war!" You can feel the difference between him and other soldiers. The attitude towards the hungry, the family of Germans left behind, and the attitude of not caring about whether the Germans who live in the country are Nazis, full of compassion and human care, which is different from the bureaucrats in the army.

The second is the contrast between the couple's perception and treatment of war scars. The officer's wife's indifference, strong sense of boundaries, and rejection of the Germans originated from the war with Germany that killed her son! She has deep guilt for the loss of her son and hate the war, but because her husband is an officer, this anger has nowhere to rest. She is suffering, but she has never been cured. I longed to come to Germany to heal with my husband, but I couldn't get it. The officer did not feel bad about the loss of his son, but wanted to numb himself and forget the pain of loss through his extreme devotion to work. He even escaped the relationship between husband and wife and escaped into work. The couple has no emotional support, and can't even quarrel. This marriage is like a bombed Hamburg, in ruins.

The last and most important thing is the conflict and abnormal love between two families under the same roof. A family of German architects has an optimistic attitude towards life (painting, piano, reading room), design concepts (works by various design masters), an optimistic attitude towards life (from an architect to a steel caster but also a demeanor), and a rebellious attitude towards children ( "I'm just his father"), and even his wife was killed. These were not destroyed by bombs or wars. They were pained and tolerated. The war allowed the two families to live "together", and the "painful loss of family members" brought the two families together. The piano became a bridge to open the communication between the two families, and the male protagonist’s daughter became the officer’s wife’s emotional sustenance for the child and healed the heart. Good medicine, the care and support of German architects like a husband seems to make up for the "spiritual vacancy" of two important roles in the marriage of officers’ wives. German architects also project their emotional needs for their wives to officers’ wives. The feelings of indecency between the two sides grew stronger and stronger because of each other's needs. However, as the movie said at the beginning, the hatred of each other hidden deep underneath did not stop because the war ended.

The misconduct between the two was finally revealed. It was discovered by the officer that the war was won, but the wife lost to the Germans in her marriage. When the emotions were complicated, a bullet slapped people back from the pink marriage war. To the cold bloodthirsty reality. The officer knew that his wife could not be kept, so he simply loved her and let her go. In the ruins of this marriage war, the wife can be the first to win the sunshine of healing, so go. So far it is complete.

The return of the ending was a bit deliberate, but it concealed the lustre of the officer's emotional changes.

It's a pity that the screenwriter didn't work
