Divided Friendship: After Viewing the "Common Security Zone"

My first impression of this movie is quite similar to that of "Silmi Island". Both are based on the story of the war between North and South Korea. They are both depressive effects and tragic endings. ...The

story mainly tells about the friendship between North and South Korean soldiers. The Joint Security Zone JSA is located near Panmunjom, and its two sides are jointly guarded by North and South Korea. One day, gunshots cut through the silent night sky. A South Korean soldier killed two North Korean soldiers and wounded one in an area guarded by North Korea. The incident finally triggered a fierce gun battle. The relationship between North and South Korea has suddenly become very tense, and it is on the verge of breaking out.

The Neutral Nations Supervision Committee, composed of Swiss and Swedish soldiers, sent the Swiss second lieutenant officer Sophie to investigate the incident. The investigation did not go smoothly. Both the North and the South held their own words. The two surviving parties remained silent and the other was emotional. But under Sophie's unremitting efforts, all the problems were solved one by one, and the true face of the whole incident was revealed.

South Korean military commander Lee Soo-hyuk unfortunately stepped on a landmine when he thought of it. At a helpless moment without the support of his companions, fortunately, the North Dynasty sergeant Wu Jing had to rescue him to survive. Since then, the two people who should be hostile have forged a life-and-death relationship. Later, Wu Jingbi, Li Xiuhyuk and their respective comrades-in-arms Zheng Yuzhen and Nan Shengzhi became very good friends, although it was extremely difficult for each of them to take the first step. In the middle of the night, they drank and talked together and played games together...Although the cloud of war was shrouded in the common security area, and the heavy rain of bullets could be shot at each other's positions at any time, in the eyes of four good friends, it seemed to be a paradise. . But the good times didn't last long. On the night of Zheng Yuzhen's birthday, when they were giving gifts to each other and sharing their joy, an officer from the Northern Dynasty happened to enter and see this scene. The five people were stunned on the spot. When they realized that they were not facing friends but enemies on the battlefield, they drew their guns at each other. Blood splattered everywhere, and heaven became hell in a blink of an eye. ...

A tragic ending with Korean characteristics, but not deliberately. Suddenly I thought of a comment, saying that Andersen's fairy tales have a beautiful development, but usually they can't escape a sad ending (the daughter of the sea turns into a bubble, and the happy prince is sent into the melting pot). It expresses the conflict between ideals and reality. "Common Security Zone" is not a fairy tale, but it gives people the same feeling.

When it comes to battlefields that are full of gunpowder, we often praise the friendship between our comrades. However, "Common Security Area" tells such a story, a story about the budding friendship between "enemies". The war is not out of the intent. They will put photos of their loved ones in the pockets close to their chests, they will keep a puppy in the outpost, and they will bring the sketch book and pencil with them... and at this time, they only It's just a pawn under the authority, at its mercy. During the investigation, Sophie, because both parties refused to tell the truth, had to confront the parties involved, Lee Soo Hyuk and Wu Jingbi. They were sitting on both sides of the table, standing behind them were their respective supporting forces. Sophie took out a model to reproduce the case, the humanoid puppets represented the characters present at the time, and then played a video of Nan Shengzhi jumping out of the window to commit suicide in front of them. Wu Jing must see Lee Soo-hyuk's shaken expression, suddenly pushed aside the table, knocked down Lee Soo-hyuk, shouting "Long live the Democratic People's Republic of Korea!". The scene suddenly became full of gunpowder. The tables were overturned and the models were scattered on the ground. The supporting officer drew a pistol and stepped on the human-shaped puppets. The puppets snapped off... and the soldiers, they were like those who had been twisted to pieces. Same as puppets.

Although it is a war-themed film, "Common Security Area" only contains a scene of a gun battle. I always don't like the plotless fights and bloody scenes, and I feel a lot about this period. The camera switched quickly. It is hard to forget that Nan Shengzhi ran across the border back to the post in the heavy rain, curled up in the corner of the room soaked and crying. The bullet flew past him, and the glass and the utensils in the house shattered to the ground; it is hard to forget that Wu Jing must look anxiously to confirm whether Li Xiuhyuk has returned to the opposite side; hard to forget that Li Xiuhyuk limped and injured his leg and ran to the other side of the boundary with all his strength Time, fell to the ground. He turned his back to the sky, and the rain mixed with tears.

Many details in the movie left a deep impression on me. For example, the camera angle was painstakingly adjusted

in the North Korea post; for example, spitting at each other while on duty; for example, a small panic caused by a gust of wind; for example, the black-and-white photo at the end of the movie... What I know about the history of North and South Korea Rarely, I can't help but wonder, "It was born from the same root, so why is it too anxious to worry about each other"? I hope that peace can belong to peace-loving people, but it is a pity that beautiful ideals always bow their heads in the face of cruel reality.
