The story begins with three housewives whose husbands have been robbed for a living, and were arrested and imprisoned for a robbery. The three housewives therefore had to find a way to make a living. Later, they were inspired by their husband's occupation, so they decided to help solve the "troubles" of various shops and charge the so-called "protection fee." For example, some students steal things from shops, nail salons need certificates and so on.
These three women can help the businessmen solve the so-called problems by convening their subordinates. Especially with the help of Gabriel O'Malley (Domhnall Gleeson) to solve the problems with violence for these three women. He used to be a veterinarian and was extremely violent, but he was willing to work for these three women and teach them how to kill and deal with dead bodies.
Who are these three women? Kathy Brennan (Melissa McCarthy), she is Jimmy's wife and mother of two children. Among these three women, her mind turns the fastest. Ruby O'Carroll (Tiffany Haddish), she married the white husband Kevin (James Badge Dale), so the various discriminations in the Irish community at home and her husband Claire Walsh (Elisabeth Moss), she is Rob (Jeremy Bobb)’s wife. She suffered from Rob’s domestic violence at home, so she also lost her stomach Because of this, she actually felt relieved because of her husband’s imprisonment.
It was these three women who became the three local leaders who collected protection fees. Their team is getting stronger and stronger, and more and more people and groups are helping. Of course, they are getting richer and richer.
Because of a transaction, they annoyed Alfonso Coretti (Bill Camp), the boss of the Italian criminal family in Brooklyn. They were scared at first, but they did not expect Coretti to propose to "do business" with them. They divided the land for him, and Coretti was responsible for protecting the three women. Why do they need protection? It turned out that the three husbands who had been released from prison for a long time were actually sentenced to be released early. When they returned to the three women four months later, they would definitely not be let go. Because they are women, and the women themselves have formed their own teams, and to defeat the gangs that the husbands worked for before, in addition to the interests, there are conflicts between the status of men and women. So the women had to cooperate with the Brooklyn boss.
The three husbands were released early. Jimmy (Brian d'Arcy James) persuaded Kathy not to do this kind of business, and Jeremy Bobb as Rob Walsh continued to commit domestic violence against Claire, but she did not expect that Claire was no longer like before, so she After being beaten, he took the gun from under the pillow and killed Rob himself. Ruby is still rejected by her husband, so she wants to divorce her husband.
I didn't expect Brooklyn to find these three women, saying that the husband's gang wanted to give money to the people in Brooklyn and let them kill these three women. So under the threat of their husbands and the situation, they decided to pay a higher price and let the people of Brooklyn kill their husbands’ gangs, including their husbands. But under Casey's determined plea, she would not let them kill her husband Jimmy and Brooklyn, an underage teenager in the gang. The Italian gang in Japan solved the husband’s gang, but unexpectedly, because of Casey’s kind actions, the underage teenagers left behind sneaked into Claire’s home and died together with Claire.
There were only two women left in the gang of three women, and what Cayce did not expect was that everything was arranged by Ruby. Ruby had long been ambiguous with the black police and joined forces to rob the three husbands in that operation. Arrested them and put them in jail. The subsequent gang disputes were all inspired by RUBY, but she did not expect that she was the most cruel and greedy black woman. Later, RUBY even wanted to use Claire’s lover Gabriel to kill Casey, and swallowed the "country" that the three people worked hard together. Never thought Casey had expected that RUBY would murder herself and dominate the party, so she took A large group of his own staff and proposed that the two continue to work together to fight for the idea of UPTOWN place, RUBY agreed. In this way, the two women continued their own women's world.
There is some dark humor in the dialogue throughout the film from time to time, but this film is not a comedy.
The actors have good acting skills, especially Tiffany Haddish, who shows the heartiness and viciousness of black women to the fullest.
The story should be interesting. I was expecting a lot, but what the movie showed was not particularly exciting, which made me quite disappointed. There is nothing particularly exciting to make people admire, wasting an interesting subject.
