Seeing Neil Bozeman described the United States in "Entertainment To Death", the United States is a country established by intellectuals. "These founding fathers are all wise men, founding fathers, scientists, and highly educated people." This reminds me of the well-educated hostess in this movie. She represents the equality of Jefferson's democracy, the people's mind. At the end of the movie, when the male protagonist looked at her with a butcher knife, I remembered a sentence, "When you stare at the abyss, the abyss is staring at you."
