What the film says is that Annie has been living with her boyfriend Duncan for many years, and there are signs of old couples and old wives. Duncan has always been obsessed with Tucker, a niche singer who has disappeared for many years, but Annie disagrees with his obsession. Duncan found a studio album "Naked Juliet" by Tucker, and the two people disagree on the album. Duncan even cheated because of this, just to find someone who agrees with him more. On the other side, Annie got in touch with Tucker herself by chance, and the two gradually became in love with each other in the mail exchanges and after the meeting. Annie tried to walk into Tucker's life, but found that his past was chaotic, and he couldn't make a clean break with the results of these chaos. Duncan took the opportunity to meet his idol for many years, but was unhappy because of his different understanding of the song.

This film should be a feminist film, because Anne found out that her boyfriend had cheated, and resolutely broke up with him; after discovering that Tucker could not escape from the past life, she calmly chose to quit; finally she refused Duncan’s request for reconciliation and chose to leave the town. London pursues the life he wants. She is an independent woman who has the courage to take responsibility for herself.

In contrast, the two men are more or less naive, but both have grown up. Tucker's once chaotic emotional experience left him with a mess and a bunch of children, but in the end he chose not to escape and shoulder the responsibilities of his father and grandfather.

Duncan was obsessed with trivial matters, insisted on his own opinions, and derailed on impulse. He was a typical young boy. However, he finally realized his mistake, and accepted the failure of reconciliation. What's more rare is that he can still insist on his views when facing idols. He is not only obedient to idols, but obsessed with himself without losing himself.

Juliet, Naked quotes

  • Annie Platt: Sorry, I'm blanking. This is much easier in writing.

Tucker Crowe: Well I would say that we could take out our phones, you know, and-and write each other but the internet here is terrible.

  • Tucker Crowe: [introducing Annie to Lizzie] Annie's my friend from England. We were supposed to hook up yesterday, but then that didn't go so well.
