Based on a real event. The story of the Israeli Mossad organization hunting down Adolf Eichmann, a former Nazi German official. In 1960, after Israel learned that Adolf Eichmann was hiding in Argentina, it organized a capable capture squad, the backbone of which was Peter Malken. After they arrived in Buenos Aires, they confirmed Eichmann's identity and kidnapped him. After overcoming many difficulties, he was finally sent to the plane and escorted back to Israel for trial.
Israel is not a big country, but its spy and organization, Mossad, is well-known, on the same level as the Soviet KGB, the US Central Intelligence Agency, and the British MI5. I read several novels by Forsyth and Silva in his early years, and praised Mossad a lot. Later, I saw several real stories, such as the Uganda airport incident, the Black September Operation, etc., and I became more concerned and admired for this organization. The kidnapping of Eichmann described in this film was an extremely successful operation.
As the characters in the film said: "History has always remembered only the big people." But what the film shows us is the outstanding performance of these little people in the action team. The purpose of this operation is to capture Eichmann and bring him back to Israel for trial. The whole process was illegal, but it was approved by the top Israeli leaders. The whole process embodied resolute determination and straightforward action. Just as Mrs. Meir received the people from the Black September Action Team, before the action team set off in the film, the founding father of Israel and then Prime Minister Ben-Gurion personally met all the members of the team and said to them: "If you succeed, we We can judge our executioner. We can also use this to warn anyone who wants to follow his example. If you fail, he escapes sanctions, and may be at large forever. For the sake of our people, I beg you not to fail. That memory The book has not yet been closed, and everyone here today holds a pen to write history.” As prime minister, Ben Gurion thought of the “national enmity” of the entire Israeli nation and people. For everyone in the group, they have their own "home hatred". Peter's sister died in the Holocaust in a Nazi concentration camp. These national hatreds have long been unforgettable, and this kind of hatred made him want to kill Eichmann several times. And reason told him that the most thorough revenge is to let Eichmann accept the trial of all mankind, and let his crimes be made known to the world.
There is such a detail in the film. Eichmann took his young son, counting the carriages of passing trains in the evening night, as if he was a kind father. In another scene, during the SS period, Eichmann drove a large number of Jews into a large pit and ordered soldiers to shoot at them. In his subsequent defense, Eichmann claimed that he was only implementing orders from higher authorities and could not leave the country's guilt to individuals. I couldn't help but think of another movie "The Reader." Isn't the Nazi female guard also saying that she is doing her duty? So what made them make this choice? Let them turn from an ordinary father's loving mother into a devil? In World War II, the Nazis killed 6 million innocent Jews, and the Japanese killed 300,000 Chinese in Nanjing. In the face of these powerless elderly, women, and children, how can they handle it? Thinking about it carefully, what Eichmann said is not completely wrong. Except for those who formulate policies and implement them, all the German people cannot get rid of the main responsibility.
Evil and good have always existed in human nature. In a society, when the good permeates the hearts of the people, it is an age of harmony and warmth, and when the evil permeates the world, people will become Satan. Investigating its root causes, in addition to political desire for power and economic insatiable greed, as an individual, I pay more attention to the pursuit of morality. Human beings are always making progress, although this kind of staggering progress is often slow, after all, it gives people some hope. I hope that people will always move towards the light and never fall with the progress.
For thousands of years, the Jewish people have endured incomparable suffering, discrimination, displacement, and no homes of their own. As a result, he formed his own distinctive character. Smart, forbearing, tenacious, will not forget hatred, and will repay you. Different from the view of freedom advocated by the West, for their own freedom, they will not hesitate to deprive others of their freedom. In order to achieve the goal, you can do whatever you can. At the beginning of the founding of the nation, in order to fight for land, they could burn Palestinian villages wantonly, kill innocent poor people, and turn 700,000 Palestinians into refugees. In order to rescue the kidnapped compatriots, they can disregard the sovereignty of other countries and land their planes on other people's airports. The kidnapping of Eichmann described in the film actually violated the sovereignty of other countries. This extreme act seems to contain all kinds of helplessness. People who have been educated in Confucianism like us cannot understand. I don't know whether to praise or condemn.
Towards the end of the film, Eichmann's eldest son hung a Nazi flag on a high building. It seems that the little people over there are also trying to write history. People who seem to be warning, don't forget, don't take it lightly. The evil of the Nazis still spread among their descendants. There is still a long way to go for justice.
The whole filming of the film is plain and flat, no matter whether it is the plot or the shooting skills, there is nothing outstanding about it. The villain Eichman is played by Ben Kingsley and is the only best actor ever played. After the storm, the bloody wind, and after acting as a murder butcher, the mood of calming everything down is well represented.
My score: 6.5.
