The story of "Tabad" is based on such a legend:
The Tabards built a shrine on the womb of the goddess of prosperity who had imprisoned Hasta to worship Hasta. They stole gold coins from Hasta, and the gods became angry, and Tabad has been raining ever since.
The old noble man at the beginning of the movie is the father of the protagonist Vinayak. He is the secret heir to Hasta, but he left no wealth except a gold coin after his death.
The secret of the temple was taken into the tomb by him.
The mansion gradually became dilapidated after his death.
The old man died, but his great-grandmother still lives in the world in a state of inhuman and ghost. The great-grandmother knew the location of Hasta—just under the temple. She once went down to the womb of the Goddess of Prosperity many times, attracted Hasta’s attention with a flour doll, protected herself by drawing circles on the ground with flour (Hasta was eager for food, but also afraid of food), and took the opportunity to steal gold coins . She succeeded many times, until in the end, she was attacked by Hasta and cursed of immortality and eternal hunger.
She became a monster, locked by an iron chain, looked after by the protagonist Vinayak's mother, and fed on time.
This is the end of the story of Vinayak's parents: his father's great-grandmother turned into an ugly monster that will live forever in an adventure, and his father himself did not seem to steal gold coins anymore but chose to sit and eat.
The entrance to the womb of the Goddess of Prosperity was sealed at this time, and the temple was vacant and gradually dilapidated. The last old man who knew the secret of the gold coin took the Hasta worship of his people for generations and was buried in the soil forever. His illegitimate son, Vinayak, was taken away from Hasta by his mother.
A story comes to an end, leaving only an "old monster" who knows the secret.
And another story has just begun at this time. After the greedy and bold Vinayak grew up, he couldn't let go of Tabard's secrets, and came back to look for the old grandmother again, trying to find a way to get gold coins from her.
Unattended, the old grandmother grew into a tree with her heart beating on the branches.
Finding an old grandmother who can still speak, Vinayak sat on the ground and laughed wildly: "Grandma, you have a tree growing on you!"
Standing at the beginning of the story, Vinayak fell into extreme ecstasy and did not realize that the desperate grandmother in front of him was the end of him.
The old grandmother told Vinayak the steps of stealing gold coins, and also offered her condition: "Give me fire. I want freedom."
Vinayak burned the painful body of the old grandmother, and completely ended the story of his parents, thus starting his own story.
He continued to successfully seize the gold coins in Hasta's pockets in exchange for mansions, costumes, beauties, status... He has accumulated a lot of wealth but still is not satisfied, and also cultivated his son to practice the method of seizing gold coins.
When his son was fourteen years old, Vinayak took him into the womb of the goddess of prosperity.
At this time, India became independent and Tabad belonged to the government. Vinayak’s young and arrogant son suggested to his father a one-time-and-all solution:
You have been doing it wrong all the time! We should bring a lot of flour dolls to constantly attract Hasta's attention, buy time, and win his pocket with a steady stream of gold coins!
Vinayak took his son to grab Hasta's pocket.
But what he never expected was how many Hastas appeared as many dolls they brought!
The method of seizing gold coins is a fixed pattern passed down from generation to generation by his people, but apparently no one has told him the reason for using this pattern.
Vinayak finally tied all the dolls to herself, attracting Hasta to leave the womb and then destroying them, sacrificing herself to give his son a way to survive.
Just as the goddess of prosperity chose to protect Hasta, Vinayak chose to protect his children.
Vinayak who grabbed the waist cloth handed it to his son.
The son did not answer, but instead chanted a spell to make the father who had become a monster fall asleep.
With tears, he burned Vinayak with a fire.
Vinayak's son gave up his waist cloth and left Tabard alone.
The story of Vinayak is also over.
But this by no means means that everything is over.
——The secret about Hasta is still in the world.
You know, before Vinayak's first adventure, the old grandmother had warned him:
But Vinayak said this:
To end, this story should end at the beginning.
Whether it was the great-grandmother who turned into a monster, or the noble old man who had no wife but only a mistress and an illegitimate child, they wanted to end it all.
The ending is placed at the beginning of the story.
But ah, but the blood of greed has never been cut off.
As long as the secret remains.
Everything is just the beginning.
It is very appropriate to end with the first sentence at the beginning of the movie.
Vinayak was right about one thing: "If I don't want it, someone else will want it."
Gods who are not allowed to be remembered and worshipped are etched in the depths of the hearts of the world.
