I'M REALLY HOPING TO HAVE A SOCIETY LIKE POTATO PEEL PIE

The most remarkable part of this film that I have to point out is the clothing matched to Lily James, and of course her good-looking appearance, by the way Guernsey has such a great scenery.

well, basically speaking, this story comes out a traditionay British novel so it's derived accordingly. The plot looks a little stiff but it's still classic like other British writings. In addition, the British accent and propriety of starrings also make me pleased. Ashton made a pen friend that far away from where she live and work before. But the most attractive thing for her is to find out the truth that she heard about, that is, the Literary Society. During that period time of persuing, she aslo find her own mind and complete redemption by herself.

I haven't read the original work of the author, but the film attached to it is not bad, but it's not perfect as well. In my view, the director should focus on telling a good story about the society instead of put some inappropiate relations between actress and actor. nevertheless, I like it.

The love line is really a bit embarrassing... A literary work, if it wants to tell a love story, should it be more inked? ! This kind of love at first sight is really not because the pig man is too handsome? ! But Mark is also very handsome? My favorite part of the movie is the photography. Many scenes have the feeling of KK's arrogance and prejudice, and the soundtrack is a bit similar to Atonement. It is really heavily influenced by Joe White.

Don't forget love because of hatred

The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society quotes

  • Juliet Ashton: Do you suppose it's possible for us to already belong to someone before we've met them?

  • Juliet Ashton: [Writing] Dear Mr. Adams, I am so pleased your letter found me and that my book found you. Perhaps there is some secret sort of homing instincts in books that brings them to their perfect readers. How delightful if that were true.
