Musicals is a difficult subject to shoot. If you want to shoot well, please write a powerful and impeccable script and music that fits every scene. Please refer to "Les Miserables" and "The Phantom of the Opera".
If you want to take good pictures of love and earn the audience’s tears, please prepare for the special emotional attachment between men and women. Don’t make a mediocre story and ask them to say something I’ll always love you at the end. This is written by junior high school students. What is the difference between writing a running account and then forcibly pulling two sentences of the central idea in the last paragraph? Even the "Notebook of Love" written by Nicholas Sparks, Guo Jingming of the United States, can dwarf La La Land.
The scene where Mia and Seb quarrel at home about whether they should give up their dreams made me feel embarrassed and cancerous. The director wants to show people's helpless struggle between reality and dream, right? Okay, then do a good job of characterizing the psychology of the characters! Prepare for the conflict! Did Seb say anything when John Legend turned on the freaking electric piano? He shook his head and said nothing. Okay, I thought the director would focus on Seb's struggles day after day, eh? As a result, with a salary of $1,000 a week, he happily left behind his so-called traditional jazz. Also, Mia and Seb didn't have any in-depth conversations at the beginning of the movie. How could Mia seem to distinguish right from wrong in an instant when Seb prepared a surprise for Mia, and began to blame Seb's dream for being eaten by a dog?
Seeing this, my expression in the cinema is like this:
I think there is a line written in this quarrel scene very well, probably Seb said to Mia: "You just liked me when I was nobody or nothing, because it made you feel better about yourself." The problems these two people are facing. The director wanted this sentence to pierce the heart of Mia, who is sincerely good for Seb, and also make the audience's heart cramp as Mia slams the door and leaves. The irony is that this sentence can't be given because of insufficient preparation in the early stage. Any opportunity for Mia to fight back gives the audience enough reason to believe that it is true that she is a bitter woman who waits for Seb at home every day at this stage.
Commander Gao has never been my type, but his image is really suitable for literary and artistic youths, and his acting skills are qualified and well received. Emma Stone is so lively and cute that I can't hate it, but she is embarrassed in the movie. I don't want to say anything. Think about the effect of Amanda Seyfried, who has musical experience, instead of her, and feel it for yourself.
It’s not that there are no remarkable bridges in this movie:
1. What John Legend said to Seb about changing Jazz's way of acting to cater to the trend. "You keep holding on to the traditional Jazz. But Jazz is not about the past. It's about the future."
2. After Mia became a star, she returned to the coffee shop where she used to work to buy coffee, which perfectly echoed the beginning of the film. The camera has been following the first actress, only showing her back, because she doesn’t need her front face or a cameo by a big Hollywood star. The audience can read from the expressions of other waiters and guests in the coffee shop that the director wants. The message conveyed. This is the most wonderful part of the movie. Many times, needless to say, even minimalist, delete all the things that can be deleted, and what remains is the essence.
Everyone is discussing how great the ending of the movie is. I do not deny that this so-called "regret" treatment is adequate. But is it enough for a film to pass? This movie, like any work by Xin Haicheng, only tells us one truth: the script is always the soul of a movie! soul! There is no drama conflict. A script that has been flat for more than an hour. Want to turn things around by forced "sublimation" in the last 10 minutes? I tell you, there is no way!
Hey, I don't like to talk about it. Just think about the Chinese test papers that most of you handed in in junior high school. Of course, I am also included. How many people dare to say that you have given the characters a rich heart, that you have given the story enough twists and turns, and that you have done a good job of laying the groundwork to push the plot to a climax? Think about this first, and then comment on this movie.
Seriously, when I saw the overwhelming praise of La La Land and your name on the Internet, I seemed to see the day Trump was elected.
The malice in this world is really too deep. Is the movie hopeless? Still love is not saved?

Everyone is asking what it has to do with Trump. Let me explain.
On the day of the general election, everyone thought that Hillary would win. Seeing that the votes were dumped from state by state to Trump, everyone was asking where the people who voted for Trump came from. The people and things that you overlooked by your side, you think of course shouldn't exist, are there. Dare to ask how your attitude towards the world will change? Is there right or wrong in this world? Is it good or bad?
I can't give an answer.

Those of you who fell in love with this movie must be very happy in your love life. Well, just be happy for you.
