is opening today, Yingtian Art Cinema, thanks to Yingtian Printing Co., Ltd. and General Manager Cai for their active support
Fan Daming: Today, Yingtian Art Cinema opens. Originally, I was going to invite General Manager Cai here to do an opening remark, temporarily telling me that something was going to happen, including her assistant Xiao Shen, who couldn't be there either. Then, on behalf of the organizer of the film bar, Yingtian Printing Co., Ltd. and Mr. Cai, thank you for coming. Everyone has come to this new environment and new place based on the hobby of classic art films. For this reason, I would like to thank Yingtian Printing Co., Ltd. and its general manager, Ms. Mingxiao Cai, for their active support of this activity. They provided such an environment and projection equipment free of charge to support the development of this activity, and the specific contact with this place was Pan Jialai, deputy secretary-general of our Art Review Research Association; he was here today. (Applause) He had received support before, and held an art lecture in this venue under the name of Hangzhou Art Critics Association. So I also want to thank him for his recommendation. At the end of June, the shadow bar event ended at Henglu. Everyone still expects the shadow bar for future events. I have visited several venues. After everyone’s concern, support and help, and some people’s recommendations, I finally chose Yingtian Printing Co., Ltd., settled in their company's pixel garden. Of course, the new venue has just started, and some situations may be unfamiliar, and mistakes will occur. I hope everyone will understand. Starting today, the 23rd season of the Movie Bar has entered the 7th director of the 9 directors of the "Master Classics Annual Exhibition"-the film month of the British world-class film master David Lean-this month there are a total of four different periods of his Videos. Lean was born in 1908, if he were alive, he would be 109 years old. Six and a half years ago, in March 2011, the film bar "British Film Month" arranged for the screening of his director's "Lone Star's Tears", which was based on the 19th century British critical realist writer Dickens' novel "Broad Adapted from "Future". The film "Meet and Hate Late" is a work of the same period, but it should be a small production compared to the film. It is based on a romantic stage short drama "Still Live" (Still Live) adaptation and shooting. The basic structure and plot are based on the subjective perspective of the heroine Laura, using monologues and flashbacks.

The film basically focuses on the emotional portrayal of the heroine, Laura, and has a good portrayal of the psychological activities of the heroine and heroine.
Wang Zengguang: This film is derailed under the traditional concept. The film basically focuses on the emotional depiction of the heroine Laura; while for the heroine Alec, there are not many expressions.
Kim Aiwu: I think the film fits the emotional characteristics of the characters of the 1945 era. The music of the film is very good. The director has a good portrayal of the psychological activities of the heroes and heroines.

The second piano concerto of Rachmaninov was selected in the film, which harmonized Laura’s turbulent psychological emotions
. The piano is accompanied by the British National Symphony Orchestra. This may refer to the music we heard when Laura returned home to play the record in the film. This piece of music coordinated Laura's immediate inner turbulent psychological emotions, and her husband was muffled by this. Of course, he was puzzled. He also thought the music was too loud and asked his wife to turn it down. In fact, the background music at the beginning of the film, accompanied by the roar of the train from far to near, is very shocking. The music is really good.

The film vividly portrays the image of two very gentleman men, showing the kind of cultural education of the British in 1945
Ho Ji: The film not only describes the deep and restrained female emotions like Laura, but also vividly describes The image of two very gentlemen. It shows the kind of cultural education in England in 1945, which is very gentle.

The film digs deeper into the character's personality and grasps the feelings in line with the character's character. Both men and women are more restrained.
Wang Yanlin: This is a very British film produced by a British director. The man is very gentleman and generous. The brilliance of the film lies in the storytelling method of flashbacks and narratives. Dig into the character's character more deeply, grasp the feelings in line with the character's character, and both men and women are more restrained.
Jin Aiwu: Unlike men and women nowadays, they go to bed as soon as they touch.

The film provides a logical background for Laura’s having an affair like Alec.
Van Daming: I noticed that the film shows Laura after returning home, and all she can do is repeat those needles and threads on hand. Alive. Their husband and wife are indeed very gentle, but there is really a lack of real spiritual communication. These descriptions also provided a logical background for the occurrence of an affair like Dr. Alec after Laura left the house.

The whole film is dominated by the emotional lines of the heroine, and the other supporting actors also have a distinct character image
Si Yu: the plot continuity of the film is good. The beginning and end of the film is a circular narrative. The story of such an old movie is simple, simple, and still very interesting to watch. The whole film is dominated by the emotional lines of the heroine, while the other supporting actors also have distinct character images. The plot of the train from beginning to end runs through the whole film. In the film, the language used by the heroine to face her friends is a guilty description. The female owners of train stations, coffee shops, and coffee shops write very meticulously for each role. I think the biggest finishing touch of the film is the editing of the film.

The film is the embodiment of the British gentleman's demeanor and spirit. The story of an extramarital affair is so beautiful.
Zhou Delu: In the film, I am a layman, but I am also a movie friend of Henglu Yingba. Today this film shows the civilization of men. The film can be said to be the embodiment of the British gentleman's demeanor and spirit. why? Because in World War II, the British, except for some air strikes, basically did not endure as much war trauma as the European continent. That's why Britain, which retains a gentleman's demeanor, can film such a story of an extramarital affair so beautifully that it makes the audience feel deeply moved when they see it.

The film describes the love story of female monologues very delicately.
Lv Lingzhen: I watch less movies. There are obviously differences between domestic films and foreign films. The feature of this film is that the description of the love story of the female monologue is very delicate.

The movie is beautiful and pure in general, and the heroes and heroines think about each other. The basic theme is "Essence, but reason."
Yu Mingzhu: The movie is generally beautiful and pure, and the heroes and heroines are very considerate of each other. The subject matter of the film is suitable for young married people to watch. The basic theme is "Essence, but reason." It happened in a snack bar, with the train back and forth in the background. As for Laura, she was really deeply involved in her emotions, even through her own subjective fantasies. I think the film is a bit similar to "The Bridge of Madison County".

There are many imaginary elements in love; true love must contain a kind of torture and suffering
Fan Daming: I think we can’t deny that the hero and the heroine really cherish each other's true love during this Thursday date. It may be that this meeting only once a week will increase the emotional attraction between the two people. The so-called "difficult to meet is also difficult", there is love when there is difficulty, and the rich imagination of love will be cast when there is difference. I now think that there are many imaginary elements in love; and true love must also contain a kind of torture and suffering.

The film’s values and morality issues, why does Laura like Alec?
Chen Qi: The values and ethics of the film may be a bit incorrect.
Zhang Bin: From the video, Laura's husband is still very considerate to Laura, so I have a question: why does Laura like the doctor Alec?
Fan Daming: You raise this question, it is a big question. In fact, this is exactly what the film director is going to talk about when shooting this film. If you really watched the film carefully, you should get a preliminary answer from the film itself.

Reason beats emotions, the hero and heroine never break through the bottom line, showing the true nature of humanity
Wang Yanlin: People will always meet several opposite sexes they like in their lifetime. This is not surprising. The ultimate performance of the film is that reason overcomes emotion. Today's era can be said to be an era of cravings. And the film shows the era that has passed away. The relationship between the hero and heroine has never broken the bottom line, it shows the truth of human nature.

Laura is pure and passionate, but she also has the old and shrewd side that usually women have
Van Daming: After Laura had an extramarital affair with Alec, she concealed and deceived her husband. Of course, she is not completely deceiving, and sometimes she also talks about some situations, such as telling her husband to invite a doctor to eat at home, etc., but in general she creates an impression that she and the doctor are just the normal kind of heterosexual friend relationship. The husband has been kept in the dark, not knowing the severity of the development. In the overall structure of the film, Laura is presenting her entire story to her husband. In fact, this is just her own inner monologue. She never told the truth completely, and even called her girlfriend to make a "collusion". This shows that Laura has her simple and enthusiastic side, as well as the old-fashioned and shrewd side that usually women have. Of course, she did this to prevent her marriage and family life from being destroyed, and she didn't want to hurt her husband too much.

Laura’s husband is a gentleman; or her husband is very slow.
Lv Lingzhen: Another point is very good. At the end of the film, Laura’s husband said to Laura that you finally came back to me. This is a gentleman.
He Ji: I think it's because her husband is very slow.

In the end, Alec is going to practice medicine in Africa. It seems that the director has treated the ending of the story in a conservative manner.
Yan Baihua: I am an old film friend of Henglu Yingba. Now that the event can be arranged on Saturday, it also allows me to participate again. I am very happy. The film has such a plot design: Laura herself broke into the friend's apartment where Alec the doctor was staying, causing Alec to disagree with her friend. In the end, Alec is going to practice medicine in Africa. Is this deliberately designed by the director? It seems that the director treated the ending of the story in a conservative manner.

After the war, such a film is necessary when people’s hearts are traumatized.
Wang Yigang: Chinese people are now looking at such a British story. I am thinking about it. I think it has a taste of aristocratic and Cinderella story. Laura is a bit of Cinderella, shy and innocent, while the protagonist Alec has a handsome appearance and a gentleman's demeanor. In the context of widespread trauma to the human heart after the war, such a film is necessary. I think society also needs such works.

The film seems to raise the question that we have to choose, is marriage important or love important?
Wang Zengguang: If we think that there is a kind of true love between the hero and the heroine of the film, then the film seems to also raise the question that we have to choose, is marriage important or love important? If the latter is important, then the film is also a "Nara" story. Of course, just as Lu Xun said, "Nara" finally came back.
(At this time, many film friends are rushing to speak at the same time, and the atmosphere is too intense to make a written record. The following three paragraphs are written conversations added after the meeting)

The illusions that appeared in Laura’s mind, I think they all reflect certain relationships in reality. Kind of dangerous
support: I came here today to enjoy "Meeting Hate Late" directed by David Lean. My personal score: 8 points (10 points system). The light and shadow under the director's lens of "Meet and Hate Late" make the audience's visual experience very beautiful. The opening and ending are the same plot, but the director uses different character perspectives to narrate, and the effects are different. The heroine Laura's face is close-up with a black background, this kind of stage play is very interesting. The illusions that appeared in Laura's mind, such as dancing (spinning), seaside (dangerous), air (toddling), etc., I think all reflect certain dangers in the relationship in reality. At the end of the film, a close-up shot of Laura's face began to slowly turn from slanted back to horizontal, which also hinted to the audience that life is slowly becoming normal from being out of control.

Will the mutual attraction between opposite sexes automatically end after the red line of marriage? From a human point of view,
Cai Ling: "I see each other and hate it late", how about seeing you so early? Will the mutual attraction between opposite sexes automatically end after the red line of marriage? From a human point of view, it is not. No story happens when they are attracted because people’s subconscious minds have that socially recognized ethics and personal behavior. Moral constraints, so when the male and female in the film are attracted to each other to the possibility of derailment, they feel that the eyes of the whole world are fixed on them, struggling with the sweetness of falling in love and the mistake of falling in love. This kind of moral cleanliness is more or less in every country and every era. Countries with high degrees of freedom will have weaker moral cleanliness, and the emotional lives of middle-class men and women will be richer, so the world will not appear so narrow. , But because of this, the love that should or shouldn’t happen is not so poignant and classic. I think that love without a trace of resistance cannot support the line of the plot.

The director used his brains to deal with the plot, intensifying the contradictions and conflicts in the characters' hearts to the extreme, and then things will be reversed.
Fan Daming: Speaking of the title of the film, the so-called "Hate to meet each other late" is actually an idiom that old Chinese literati likes to use when writing love poems. It is not accurate or even subjectively imposed on the film and film director. The original name of the film is actually Brief Encounter, literally translated as "short encounter"-from it, we may also be able to see the basic ideas of the film author and the aesthetic evaluation of all the actions of the hero and heroine. In other words, this extramarital relationship between the hero and heroine in the film is just a "short-term" tributary or wave in each person's life. Whether you admire it or deny it, it will not turn over the big wave after all, and there will be no end result. . It should be admitted that the marriage relationship between Laura and her husband is peaceful and docile, but there is indeed less passion, but their marriage has not reached the point where it should break up. The director has used his brains in the plot processing, in order to strengthen the contradictions and conflicts in the characters' hearts to the extreme, and then the matter will be reversed. There is a secondary character specially arranged in the film, the middle-aged woman wearing a hat. She is really a disgusting and annoying character-she appears on occasions that shouldn't be there and talks about endlessly, letting each other recognize and say goodbye. The heroes and heroines were all missed when they were supposed to talk before they saw each other for the last time. It was under this premise that Laura, who was already on the train, suddenly got off the train, and even rushed to the apartment where Alec was temporarily staying with his friend. This is Laura's only initiative in their relationship. So why did Laura do this? It is entirely for the other party’s consideration, because I feel that Alec has not finished what he has to say. This is precisely because of the unexpected return of Alec’s friends, which caused the embarrassment between them, and even the breakdown of their friendship; and Laura As for herself, the comfort of having to sneak away from the back window also caused her to suffer the most from her personality and self-esteem. I feel that I don't have the dignity of being a human being, and I even want to commit suicide on the rails. I think that the reason why this film has become a classic in the history of the world’s cinema is that it can deal with the relationship between men and women when it reaches a crisis point. • The tragic result of Anna in Karenina. The film is adapted from a stage short play, the original play is called Still Live, which is a literal translation of "Still Live". Compared with the romance of the title "Meet and Hate Late", the saying "Still Alive" is reminiscent of the helpless ending of Pushkin's fairy tale poem "The Fisherman and the Goldfish", which seems to be too negative.

Brief Encounter quotes

  • Laura Jesson: [speaking about Dolly to herself] I wish you'd stop talking. I wish you'd stop prying and trying to find things out. I wish you were dead - no I don't mean that. That was silly and unkind. But I wish you'd stop talking.

  • Laura Jesson: [thinking to herself while looking at her husband, Fred] Fred, dear Fred. There's so much that I want to say to you. You're the only one in the world with enough wisdom and gentleness to understand. If only it was somebody else's story and not mine. As it is, you're the only one in the world that I can never tell. Never never. Because even if I waited until we were old, old people and told you then, you'd be bound to look back over the years and be hurt. And my dear, I don't want you to be hurt. You see, we're a happily married couple and let's never forget that. This is my home. You're my husband. And my children are upstairs in bed. I'm a happily married woman - or I was, rather, until a few weeks ago. This is my whole world, and it's enough, or rather, it was until a few weeks ago. But, oh, Fred, I've been so foolish. I've fallen in love. I'm an ordinary woman. I didn't think such violent things could happen to ordinary people.
