The film is a show of British comedy. Compared with American film comedy, British comedy is elegantly off-line, and it is more stern and funny.
Black humorous comedies are often cartoon violence plus off-line casts, and the film is a good example. The script of the movie is a cliché carrier if it only looks at stories and lines, but the performance of the actors turns the movie into a black humorous comedy.
The film is a remake of a French film of the same name. The British and French have always ignored each other. It is strange that the British will remake French films. This British version has naturally become a British fan. Except for the house decoration design of the French immigration area where Uncle Bill lives, amateur French pronunciation practice and those original soundtracks, this film has been thoroughly Englishized. British cartoon violence makes killings as commonplace as sleeping with eyes closed, and actors often have inexplicable off-line expressions. This is much more humorous than Crian Murphy’s "Pire’s Generosity", and These humours are serious.
