He writes a song in his life

The topic is so rustic.
I have always wanted to watch this movie related to education, but it is too old. From knowing this movie to seeing it, many years have passed. Although it is an old film, it still has a lot of resonance. From the beginning of teaching, Mr. Holland was just to leave a way behind. The old principal said very well that education has two functions, one is to impart knowledge, and the other is to guide the direction. When the old principal retired, the compass she gave to Mr. Holland may be an affirmation of Mr. Holland's work.
A lot of vivid examples of teacher-student relationship and the final concert will not be discussed, because in my opinion, there are many idealistic assumptions and beautifying elements. The interspersed with American historical events, the death of John Lennon, and the tense to alleviated relationship between Holland and his son who was born deaf, make it surpass the general music and education-themed movies.
Finally, I want to say that the theme of the film is very moving. As a music teacher, there is no greater success than this. No matter what profession you are in, teacher, soldier, singer or governor, the education you have received and the mentor you have been taught are your guiding lights. Even if you have never met a teacher like Mr. Holland, everything you have experienced is your best teacher. The more general meaning is that it inspires us to think about how we should spend our ordinary but wonderful life as a person.

How can anyone start work at 7:30 in the morning. It’s too heartbreaking to prevent the sun from coming out. I took pictures of it. It’s too romantic. I took the education qualification certificate only for occasional needs. I never think that teachers should be at the end. Work to consider as a teacher. I never think I have any blemishes. Learning an instrument requires hard work. Education should guide the direction. Music is fun. It’s not a note. It’s about moving the stereotyped teacher. The male lead is so boring. My students, my children, how can they have time to give themselves, it is really an old movie and this kind of derailed plot, but the character setting is not collapsed, it is still a good person, and the setting is speechless. At that time, it didn’t pay much attention to art and only thought about math. I’m not doing it. Now I’m really the only career I want to do. Because of self-confidence, what I do is meaningful and self-confidence is important to other people. No one here is not affected by you. Because of you, we have become better people. We are your symphony. We are your life. What's really moving is that

Mr. Holland's Opus quotes

  • Mr. Glenn Holland: Let me ask you a question. When you look in the mirror, what do you like best about yourself?

    Gertrude Lang: My hair.

    Mr. Glenn Holland: Why?

Gertrude Lang: Well, my father always says that it reminds him of the sunset.

Mr. Glenn Holland: Play the sunset. Close your eyes. One, two, three, four.

  • [Glenn and Iris are discussing the possibility of sending Cole to a special school]

Glenn Holland: The doctor said that gestures meant...

Iris Holland: It's way more than gestures.

Glenn Holland: That gestures meant that Cole would never learn how to lip read or to talk!

Iris Holland: He can barely talk now, he can't say two or three words!

Glenn Holland: The guy is a specialist, Iris!

Iris Holland: Ohhh, he's a specialist who thinks that deaf people are retarded and he is not retarded, he is...

[Cole is screaming, asking for something and Iris doesn't know what it is]

    Iris Holland: Cole!

Glenn Holland: What does he...? Give him what he wants!

Iris Holland: I don't know what he wants, I don't understand what he's trying to say. Don't you get it? You walk to school every day with all these children who are normal. I can't talk to my son! I don't know what he wants or what he thinks or what he feels. I can't tell him that I love him, I can't tell him who I am. I want to talk to my son! I don't care what it costs, I don't care what the stupid doctor says it's right or wrong. I want to talk to my son!
