I don’t know how many people like me love the old man Hayao Miyazaki, so Love House and Utei come to watch this film. But Mr. Miyazaki, after all, is too young to be strong, and it is inevitable to be said to have insulted his father's reputation and smashed Ghibli's signature. The title of the film is not magnificent, but the whole drama is really not worthy of the word magnificent. The story of the war is not counted as a third-rate plot of a prince fighting evil wizards, and the vastness of the land sea If it is not reflected, the heroic spirit of the war can not be seen.
Since I came with full of expectations, I was disappointed from the various misfortunes in the drama from time to time to make people want to complain.
1. The plot advances and the rhythm is slow. The sense of rhythm is a very important thing. If the rhythm is not right, it is easy for the audience to lose interest in those irrelevant places, and become disgusted in the unintelligible. When Yaren went to find Tianna for dinner in the back of the house, Tianna sang a song for three minutes there. It sounds good or not. Maybe it can be regarded as the biggest highlight of the film, but it is difficult to match the development of the plot. .
2. At first glance, all kinds of twigs are thought to be a foreshadowing, which can be the finishing touch at the end, but after reading it, it is superfluous to realize that it is a clerical error. For example, what did the old woman who sell drugs talk about in the end, and what does it have to do with the main theme of the film? When I saw the spider in the back drank the cup of unknown black liquid to Ya'an, I said that drinking it will calm you down. I remembered that when the old woman gave Yabian pills at the beginning, she said that she would feel very happy after taking it. At that time, she wondered if it was something similar, but the subsequent plot development confirmed that the two were not connected at all.
3. Many plots are too abrupt and blunt. Why Yabian assassinated his father at the time has always been a mystery, and the play has never given a very specific explanation. When the palace ladies reported to the king that the prince was missing, the queen suddenly appeared and said not to trouble the king with such trivial matters. Her expression was as if the city was very deep. I wondered whether the assassination of the king was controlled by the queen behind the scenes, or she was an age. How can a small child be born to stab his father's mind. In the end, it was discovered that this queen, who initially thought it was very playful, hadn't shown up. The act of assassinating his father was indeed logically flawed. In the end, he had to self-hypnotize that it was caused by the prince’s psychological problems, but it was really unconvincing. And in the end, Tian Na turned into a dragon and looked very abrupt. I thought that in the end, Yabane would fight the spider for three hundred rounds, but the plot was open, making people blind.
4. What is the main theme of this film, and what thoughts I want to convey are a bit too focused. The idea of writing an essay by elementary school students means that there is no central idea. We might as well give it a look. The surging balance thought that I said at the beginning looks very tall, but it is lost in the back. In the end, the concept of life and death is involved. In fact, the concept of life and death and balance can be discussed together, but the film lacks guidance and has details that are not well-rounded. I do have such an idea. If you add a voice-over in this play, you can consistently state that the director wants to convey the unified thought through the film should also be quite good, not to mention this method can also resolve the previous problems. Adding a voice-over to explain and render the things you don’t understand, the plot will be better promoted.
Perhaps those who have read the novels of The Legend of the Earth Sea can have a clearer idea of this drama, but once the movie becomes independent, it can't justify it and it shouldn't be. Later, I went to the Internet to get a general understanding of the content of this novel, and found that this film actually wanted to mix these several novels into it. It is indeed very difficult to do so, and I can’t help but re-examine the movie. In fact, I can still see the ambition and hard work of Miyazaki’s son, so I felt a little sympathy for the film. I was going to give it to two stars. Now upgrade to Samsung.
