One week passed so fast, and in a blink of an eye it was time for the second re-screening. "Lord of the Rings" started from the first squad adventure, quickly stepped into the second multi-threaded montage, as well as exciting scenes such as the Battle of Isengard and the Battle of Heim Valley. In the first rescreening last week, some people in the comment area said that you can see the age of the Lord of the Rings. Apart from the fact that the 4k remake is a bit vague, I really don’t know the realistic texture of the scene under the special effects of Vita, ten years How can it be better than today? It just so happens that the first season of "Lord of the Rings" produced by Amazon is going to be broadcast this year, so you can look forward to it.

When writing this series of popular science articles, I found some errors in the articles I wrote several years ago. This time I tried to verify and describe them accurately. If there are errors, please leave a message to point out.

01 Which two towers are the twin towers?

The second part of "The Lord of the Rings", "The Two Towers", has been translated into "The Two Towers", "The Two Towers" and "The Two Towers". It doesn't feel very accurate, but it's really difficult to translate.

So which two towers do the twin towers refer to? The most common saying refers to Oul Sancta and Baladur.

Left: Oul Sancta; Right: Baladur Tower

Oul Sancta appears on the cover of the two illustrations above. Oul Sancta is located in the center of Isengard’s ring. It was built in the Second Age of Middle-earth and was first governed by the human kingdom of Gondor. But firstly, Isengard is located in a remote area, similar to our suburban/outer ring; secondly, the various branches of human races have been fighting for generations, leading to the decline of people's livelihood and a large number of migrations. So Isengard and Oul Sancta were once abandoned. Until the Third Age, Isengard and Orthancta were transferred to Saruman after several tossings , the original intention was to defend the human kingdom against Sauron and his dark forces. Until Saruman was tempted by the power of the Supreme Precept, he was finally corrupted by Sauron.

Baladur is Sauron's fortress in Mordor. It was mentioned in the first part of the video viewing knowledge that Sauron is a god of the Maier level. In the Second Age, He became a handsome little brother and urged Al-Farazon, the king of Numenor, to go to the west, which eventually led to the fall of Numenor, and Al-Farazon became the last king of Numenor.

The thing is like this. God Iluvita ("God" in this series is an analogy, referring to the highest god in the world, please don't be true) created elves and humans. The fathers of the gods live in the western Amen Chau and live a life of immortality. The eldest sons of the elves used to be immortal, while the younger sons of humans were tired of birth, old age, sickness and death. The act of human beings moving to the West in order to be old and immortal angered the fathers of the gods, so before the humans arrived in the West, the earth cracked a hole and swallowed Numenor, and the instigated Sauron was also punished by the gods. Injury, can no longer change back to the image of a little brother, can only show people with the big eyeballs we are familiar with. Sauron later built Balladur, and it was his big eyeball that burned on the tower.

The two towers contain each other through Palantir. Palantir is also called the True Knowledge Spar , which was made by Feaino, the former high-level Noldor Elf King, and has a total of seven. Pa Blue Tire equivalent to Monitor + ZOOM in function , on the one hand to monitor the surroundings, on the other hand can Palladio Tire communication links between each other. There is a Palantir in each of the two towers, and Sauron corrupted Saruman through the spar. In the third part of "The Lord of the Rings", the fall of Orthanc and the destruction of Orthanc spar cut off the connection between the two towers and Sauron's influence on Saruman.

Saruman connects with Peep and Sauron through Orthanc spar

The two towers that Tolkien confirmed in his novel writing were Orthank and Minas Mogul. Versions vary, but they all refer to the seemingly close alliance between Saruman and Sauron.

02 What happened to Gandalf?

In the first part, Gandalf serves as a cover for the ring protection team and is dragged into the abyss by the Balrog. In the second part, Gandalf took the protagonist template and evolved into a white-robed Gandalf and returned to the crowd. What happened during this period?

The first thing that needs to be explained is: Gandalf the Grey is indeed dead. Gandalf was not dragged into the abyss and fell to death, but after being dragged into the abyss, he fought with the Balrog for three hundred rounds and then both died together. But Gandalf (original name Oluolin, Gandalf is his mortal stage name) is Maya, and of all Istars, he is the most loyal to his duties. So God was grateful for his loyalty and resurrected him-Gandalf not only came alive, but defeating the Balrog gave him a lot of experience points, and Gandalf in the gray was directly upgraded to Gandalf in the white.

So speaking of Istar. Istar is a powerful wizard who guards Central Continent. Vera sent five powerful Istars to Central Continent one after another. Among them, there are two Maia-level players, namely the white-robed Saruman (real name Kurumo) and the gray-robed Gandalf (real name Oluolin) who appeared in the "Lord of the Rings". At that time, Saruman was far better than Gandalf in terms of character and ability.

The brown-robed Ladagast is a lover of nature, a bit like a druid, and his race is unknown. He has appeared in the movie version of The Hobbit.

There were two other blue-robed wizards, who said they were just tool men, and said they finally surrendered to Saruman.

Finally, let's talk about Balrog. Balrog is a boss-level existence second only to dragons in many fantasy novels/games. In Middle-earth, the Balrog is a fire spirit corrupted by the Dark Lord Morgoth (Vera level), belonging to the Maier level. The most powerful Balrog in history is Gosmog. He is a powerful servant of Morgoth and the commander of Angerban. In the First Era, He killed two generations of High Elf King Feino and Fingon in the Battle Under the Stars and the Battle of the Rain of Tears. He was not killed until the fall of Gondolin.

The big pineapple in the Blizzard game also has the shadow of the Balrog

In contrast, the Balrog in the Mine of Moria was just a little brother, and he even forced Gandalf to Nirvana. Reminiscing about Sauron's strength, I can only say that the same is Mai Ya, why is the difference in strength so big?

03 Origin of Ente

Tree whiskers

In ancient mythology, Aoli and Yavana were married, both of whom belonged to the level of Vera (female called Veri), lower than God but higher than Maya.

Aoli created the dwarves , which made large-scale iron and steel, felled a lot of trees and caused environmental damage. Austrian wife Where Ya Na precisely environmentalists, He saw the destruction of green and do not want a divorce, then to consult God, after the approval of the creation of the tree people, that is Bryant . Ente's original function was to prevent the dwarves from destroying trees until they met the more ferocious Oak.

Ente is a serious race in Middle-earth, at the same level as the dwarves.

04 Aragon and Arwen's Love

The two kiss each other, of course it is beautiful, but this scene has a sense of ritual and compositional beauty of a religious decorative painting.

Several emotional scenes between Aragorn and Arwen are inserted in "Lord of the Rings 2", which are beautiful and tragic and touching, and also ease the tension and suffocation of the big battle scene. Here is a rough summary of the relationship between the two.

Let’s talk about Aragorn first. Aragorn is the son of Aragorn, the 39th direct descendant of Isildu (the blood of the Gondor royal family), and the genealogy is pushed forward. He is a descendant of Elros. Who is Ellos? Elros is Elrond’s own brother. They are the sons of Eyarendil (human) and Erwen (elves). Because Eyarendil went to the west to ask the gods for help against Morgoth in the First Era, his pair of mixed-race children can choose to be elves or humans. As a result, Elros chose to be a human, and became the king of humans in the future; Elrond chose to be an elf—because of the mixed blood relationship, he was called the most powerful half-elf in the Third Age.

Aragorn is Elrond’s adopted son, and Arwen is Elrond’s biological daughter. Therefore, the combination of Aragorn and Arwen is equivalent to Aragorn marrying his grandmother dozens of generations.

Belem and Lucian

The most famous combination of humans and elves in Middle-earth mythology is undoubtedly the love between Belem and Lucian. "It is all recorded in ", interested friends can choose one of them to read, and I will not describe it in detail here. Other inter-ethnic combinations of humans and elves, such as the combination of Tu'ao and Idur, and the combination of Ayarendil and Erwen mentioned above (often men married female elves, does it mean Women are often the more emotional side in relationships?). The biggest problem with the combination of humans and elves is that the lifespan of elves is much longer than that of humans. Take Aragorn and Arwen as examples. Aragorn is a Dunedin, that is, a higher human race. The life span of about 300 years is considered as long among humans, but Alwen's life span as an elf is much longer than that of Aragorn. At the end of "The Return of the King", Arwen chose to combine with Aragorn and crowned Queen Gondor. She gave up eternal life and died in the Fourth Age.

The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers quotes

  • [Aragorn walks through the ranks of Elven defenders of Helm's Deep]

Aragorn: [In Elvish] Show them no mercy... for you shall receive none!

  • Gimli: It's true you don't see many Dwarf-women. And in fact, they are so alike in voice and appearance, that they are often mistaken for Dwarf-men.

Aragorn: [whispering to Eowyn] It's the beards.

Gimli: And this in turn has given rise to the belief that there are no Dwarf-women, and that Dwarves just spring out of holes in the ground!

    [Eowyn laughs]

Gimli: Which is, of course, ridiculous.
