The film does not abuse prisoners, all the rules are just to prevent suicide. Except for the male protagonist, the other people in the film look particularly like terrorists, which is intended to convey that because terrorists have wronged good people, even if they are wronged, they are still a minority.
Through the special friendship between the female protagonist and the male protagonist, the majority of non-terrorist Muslims have a good impression of Americans. Of course the male protagonist is not simple. He understands English, has gone to college, has a high IQ, and a high EQ. Americans like such Muslims. In fact, the female protagonist is not love for the male protagonist, but a kind of compassion for the unfortunate experience of a Muslim who has actually been Americanized. The male protagonist is a Muslim, but he is watching "Harry Potter" and he has read the Bible and has his own opinions. This means that only Americans have a "favorite opinion" towards Americanized Muslims.
It can be said that the film wants to express that terrorists bring harm to the American people and ordinary Muslims at the same time.
